Overdue payments

Reasons for overdue payments

An overdue payment occurs on your account when your balance is insufficient to cover a bill.

Overdue payment notifications

If your account has an overdue payment, you will immediately receive a text message or email reminding you to pay the bill.

Service suspension

  • Subscription users

When your resource plan points are used up or the resource plan expires, you are charged based on the pay-as-you-go billing method. When your queries per second (QPS) plan expires, the QPS limit reverts to the default for the pay-as-you-go billing method.

Resource plans and QPS plans are unavailable if your account has an overdue payment.

  • Pay-as-you-go users

If your account has an overdue payment, service calls will fail. If the payment is not settled within 24 hours, your ability to call the service is suspended.

  • Offline software development kit (SDK) users

The license for the offline SDK is valid from the day of activation. You cannot use the SDK after the license expires.

Settle overdue payments to resume service

To prevent business interruptions due to expired resource plans or overdue payments, settle your outstanding balance promptly.

  • Overdue period is less than 24 hours

You can go to Expenses and Costs to view your account's overdue payment information. The service resumes after you top up your account and renew your service.

  • Overdue period is 24 hours or more

You can go to Expenses and Costs to view your account's overdue payment information. After you top up your account and renew your service, go to the Visual Intelligence API console to reactivate the suspended capabilities. The service will then resume.

Service suspension protection

If your pay-as-you-go products have an overdue payment, Alibaba Cloud provides a grace period with a specific credit limit or for a specific duration. During this period, you can continue to use Alibaba Cloud services. For more information, see Service suspension protection for overdue payments.
