Overdue payments

Updated at:

When you use Voice Service, your Alibaba Cloud account becomes overdue if your available credit, which includes your account balance and any coupons, is less than your outstanding bill. This topic explains how to settle overdue payments and how to prevent service suspensions caused by an overdue account.

Bills are generated within four hours after a billing cycle ends. The system then automatically deducts the amount due from your account balance. If your account balance is insufficient to cover the bill, your account becomes overdue. The system sends a notification to the mobile phone number and email address associated with your Alibaba Cloud account.

Account overdue

  • If your Alibaba Cloud account has an overdue payment, all pay-as-you-go instances under that account also become overdue.

  • Alibaba Cloud offers the Overdue Payment Non-stop Service. This feature lets you continue using cloud services up to a certain credit limit or for a specific period after your pay-as-you-go resources become overdue. Billing continues during this period. Your services will not be suspended as long as the overdue amount is within this limit.

    Note

The credit limit or period for this service is automatically calculated and updated each month based on factors such as your historical spending on Alibaba Cloud. The service credit limit is not the maximum amount you can owe. For more information, see Overdue Payment Non-stop Service.

  • If your Voice Service account becomes overdue due to an insufficient balance, you cannot use the service or its resource plans. Settle your overdue payments promptly to avoid service disruptions that could impact your business. After topping up your account and clearing the overdue amount, the service automatically resumes.

If you have not enabled the Overdue Payment Non-stop Service or your overdue amount exceeds its credit limit, Alibaba Cloud will suspend your Voice Service functions, including the use of subscription packages. All inbound and outbound calls will be blocked. You must pay all outstanding bills to resume the service.

How to avoid service suspension

  • Set a low balance alert

Set a threshold for your available credit. The system sends you an alert when your available credit drops below this threshold. For detailed instructions, see Monitor account balance.

  • Release unused resources

Release any voice numbers you no longer need promptly on the Voice Numbers > Real Number Management page of the Voice Service console. Charges will still apply for the month in which the number is released.

    Important

Numbers are a limited resource and cannot be released within the first three months of activation. After three months, if you are not using a number, release it promptly to avoid further monthly fees.

For example, if you purchase a standard number on August 1, you can release it starting November 1. You will be charged for four months of service (August, September, October, and November), totaling CNY 140.
