ApsaraVideo Player SDK is billed by edition and selected value-added modules.

Important

Starting February 14, 2025, ApsaraVideo Player SDK for mobile clients (version 7.0.0 and later) will be a paid service. You can choose a free trial or purchase the official edition. Package purchases are also available at a discount. After your purchase, see Integrate a Player License for authorization instructions.
If your spending on ApsaraVideo VOD, ApsaraVideo Live, or Intelligent Media Services (IMS) reaches a specific threshold, you can receive a complimentary one-year license for ApsaraVideo Player SDK Standard Edition or Professional Edition. Spend-and-Get promotion.
A new license for the ApsaraVideo Player SDK Standard Edition for the web client supports only version 2.29.1 and later. A new license for the ApsaraVideo Player SDK Professional Edition for mobile clients supports only version 7.0.0 and later. ApsaraVideo Player SDK provides a free trial. Each user is eligible for a one-month free trial of the Professional Edition, which can be used with ApsaraVideo VOD, ApsaraVideo Live, or Real-Time Streaming (RTS). Standalone purchase

To purchase a standalone official edition of ApsaraVideo Player SDK, place an order on the ApsaraVideo MediaBox SDK buy page. Then, authorize it as described in Integrate a Player License.

Package purchases include ApsaraVideo Player SDK and ApsaraVideo VOD package, ApsaraVideo Player SDK and Real-Time Streaming (RTS) package, and ApsaraVideo Player SDK and ApsaraVideo Live package. Editing and production billing

The ApsaraVideo VOD cloud editing service is billed in two tiers: basic editing and advanced editing. It supports editing for audio, video, images, and text.

Charges are based on the output file's specifications and duration, and rates vary by region.

Billing example for editing and production: Suppose you perform video editing in the Chinese mainland between 08:00 and 09:00 on a given day. You perform a basic edit that produces a 100-minute H.264 output in LD (640 × 480) resolution. The resulting fee is 100 minutes × CNY 0.0217/minute. You also perform an advanced edit that produces a 100-minute H.264 output in 2K (2560 × 1440) resolution. The resulting fee is 100 minutes × CNY 0.63/minute. Your total editing fee for this period is: (100 minutes × CNY 0.0217/minute) + (100 minutes × CNY 0.63/minute) = CNY 65.17.

Billing for transfer acceleration

ApsaraVideo VOD provides cross-region transfer acceleration (upload and download). You are charged based on the acceleration traffic generated in each region.

Note

Transfer acceleration fees are charged in addition to standard outbound traffic (oss_flow_out) fees. For example, if you download 1 GB of data from a bucket with transfer acceleration enabled by using an acceleration endpoint, you are charged for 1 GB of download acceleration traffic and 1 GB of outbound traffic.
Transfer acceleration fees in ApsaraVideo VOD apply only to uploads to and downloads from the ApsaraVideo VOD system bucket. If you also enable transfer acceleration for your own Object Storage Service (OSS) bucket integrated with ApsaraVideo VOD, OSS charges the related transfer acceleration fees on your OSS bill.

Video AI

ApsaraVideo VOD provides Video AI services, such as Content Moderation, Video DNA, Intelligent Tagging, and Smart Thumbnail, to help you recognize, analyze, and understand the content of your audio, video, and image files. You can select and enable multiple Video AI services based on your business requirements.

Intelligent tagging

The Intelligent Tagging service analyzes multi-dimensional information in videos and automatically generates content tags. You are charged based on the duration of successfully processed videos, measured in seconds. No fees are charged for failed processing.

The billable duration is 1,000 minutes because the fractional part of the duration (60,020 seconds = 1,000.33 minutes) is not charged. The fee is calculated as follows: 1,000 minutes × CNY 0.3/minute = CNY 300.

Content moderation

The Content Moderation service analyzes content in media files—including videos, audio, images, thumbnails, and titles—to detect risky or non-compliant material. You are charged based on the duration of successfully processed content, measured in seconds. No fees are charged for failed processing.

Note

The default Content Moderation template enables the pornography detection service and the terrorism and politics detection service. Resource pack usage is deducted based on the cumulative duration of all enabled moderation features.

Content Moderation billing example: Suppose you use the pornography detection service for a successfully processed duration of 1,000 minutes and the terrorism and politics detection service for a successfully processed duration of 5,000 minutes. The total fee is calculated as follows: (1,000 minutes × CNY 0.1/minute) + (5,000 minutes × CNY 0.09/minute) = CNY 550.

Video DNA

The Video DNA service analyzes video and audio fingerprints to find duplicate videos, trace clip sources, and identify original content. You are charged based on the duration of successfully processed videos, measured in seconds. No fees are charged for failed processing.

Video security

DRM billing

ApsaraVideo VOD provides DRM encryption to protect your video content. The encryption process is part of the transcoding workflow. While you are charged for transcoding, the DRM encryption fee is incurred only when a client device requests a license to play the encrypted video. You are charged for each license acquisition request.

Digital watermarking billing

Digital watermarking embeds imperceptible information into media content. This process does not affect the visual quality or integrity of the video, nor can the watermark be directly extracted. It is used for various scenarios, including copyright protection, leak tracing, broadcast monitoring, information transmission, and file authentication.

ApsaraVideo VOD charges for digital watermarking based on the duration of video processing and extraction, and the number of generated M3U8 files for traceable watermarks. No fees are charged for failed operations. Unit prices vary by region.

Note

Currently, the digital watermarking feature is available only in the China (Shanghai) and China (Beijing) regions.
