The real-time log delivery feature pushes video-on-demand (VOD) domain logs to Simple Log Service for real-time analysis. This helps you quickly identify playback and stream ingest issues. It also lets you analyze user data from VOD playback to inform your operational strategies.
Benefits of the real-time log service
Traditional logs: Traditional log analytics requires you to download logs, upload them to a data warehouse, perform data scrubbing and modeling, and then analyze the data. This process is time-consuming and requires significant maintenance.
Real-time logs: Benefit from low data latency, measured in seconds, to quickly understand video playback details. After you enable the service, logs are automatically delivered to Simple Log Service. This eliminates the complex traditional log analysis workflow and lets you view log query and analysis results in real time.
The real-time log service uses Alibaba Cloud Simple Log Service. You must activate Simple Log Service. For more information, see What is Simple Log Service?
Comparison between real-time log delivery and log download
Real-time logs are collected in real time with a data latency of no more than 3 minutes. This helps you quickly analyze logs, identify issues, and make timely decisions.
The log download feature lets you download hourly log data, which is subject to a delay.
Billing
You are charged for the number of successfully pushed real-time logs. This fee covers only the log collection and push service. It does not include fees for Simple Log Service (SLS). For more information, see VOD Billing.
