Alibaba Cloud VPC lets you distribute virtual private clouds (VPCs) across regions and vSwitches across availability zones, giving you the network foundation for cross-region and cross-zone backup and disaster recovery.
Backup and disaster recovery
The global infrastructure of Alibaba Cloud is deployed in Alibaba Cloud regions and zones. Each Alibaba Cloud region consists of multiple physically independent and isolated availability zones connected through low-latency, high-throughput, and highly redundant networks.
When you deploy applications and databases across zones, failover happens automatically if a zone becomes unavailable. You do not need to take any action during a zone failure. Zone-level redundancy provides higher availability, fault tolerance, and scalability than a single data center or multiple data centers.
