Wuying Cloud Browser (cloud browser) is a secure, cloud-based access solution for teams, enabling access to private networks without a VPN.

Use cases

Use a cloud browser in the following scenarios:

  • Secure office access: Securely access internal systems through a cloud browser without a VPN, which prevents corporate data from remaining on local devices.

  • Secure web navigation: Safely navigate to external links from internal business systems, preventing end-user devices from directly exposing the corporate network.

  • Remote collaboration: Provide a standardized browser environment for remote employees or contractors with centrally managed access policies.

Prerequisites

Create a cloud browser

  1. Log on to the EDS enterprise console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Management > Cloud-based Browser.

  3. On the Resource Management Cloud-based Browser page, click Create Cloud-based Browser.

  4. On the Create Cloud-based Browser page, configure the following parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Example

    Cloud browser name

    Enter a custom name.

    DemoBrowser

    Image type

Select the underlying environment for the cloud browser. The available options are:

    • Linux

    • Windows

    Windows

    Region

Select the deployment region for the cloud browser. To reduce latency, select a region that is close to your users.

    China (Hangzhou)

    Office network

Select the office network for the cloud browser. Only Basic office network and Custom office network are supported. Advanced office network is not supported.

If the available options do not meet your requirements, create a new office network. For more information, see .

    Note

If no options are available in the drop-down list, first create an office network in the selected region.

    default

    Switch

If you selected a custom office network, you must select a switch. If the available options do not meet your requirements, create a new switch. For more information, see .

    switch-hub

    Default homepage (Optional)

Specify the default startup URL for the cloud browser.

    https://www.aliyun.com

    Access restriction

Control which domains users can access from the cloud browser. This feature is disabled by default.

If you enable this feature, click Add to Whitelist and enter the allowed URLs. The cloud browser blocks access to URLs not on the whitelist.

    URL format and rules

    Format: <protocol//><subdomain>.<domain>.<top-level-domain></path>

    • The domain and top-level domain are required. The rule matches only the specified values.

    • The protocol, subdomain, and path are optional. If you leave an optional field blank, it matches any value. If you specify a value, it matches only that value.

    URL matching examples

    Example 1: example.com

Because the protocol, subdomain, and path are not specified, the rule matches any URL that contains this domain and top-level domain, regardless of other components. For example:

    • blog.example.com

    • blog.example.com/post/2024-01-01

    Example 2: https://www.example.com

Because the protocol and subdomain are specified but the path is not, the rule matches only URLs with the specified protocol and subdomain, regardless of the path. For example:

The rule does not match URLs with a different protocol or subdomain. For example:

    • www.example.com (Different protocol)

    • http://www.example.com (Different protocol)

    • https://blog.example.com (Different subdomain)

    URL requirements

    • You can add up to 20 whitelisted URLs.

    • The default homepage automatically consumes one whitelist slot.

    Note

If you have configured browser bookmarks and enabled access restriction, you must add the bookmarked URLs to the whitelist to allow access.

    Disabled

    Browser bookmarks (Optional)

Add bookmarks to the cloud browser. You can add up to 20 bookmarks.

    Startup parameters (Optional)

You can pass parameters to dynamically modify Chrome configurations.

Example of changing the User Agent:

    • Windows

      chrome.exe --user-agent="YourDesiredUserAgentString"
    • Linux

      google-chrome --user-agent="Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 15_3 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/15.3 Mobile/15E148 Safari/604.1"

    Example of changing the proxy:

    start chrome --proxy-server=http://192.168.1.1:8080

    Control granularity

    • Global Control

    • Granular Control

    Note

Granular control is supported only for Windows images and is not supported for Linux images.

When Granular Control is enabled, clipboard permissions are configured separately for plain text copy, text copy limits, rich text/image copy, and file/folder copy.

    Global Control

    Clipboard redirection

Control clipboard permissions between the local device and the cloud browser:

    • Allow bidirectional copy

      Forbid bidirectional copy

Only allows copying from the cloud browser group to the local device.

Allow copying only from the local device to the cloud browser group.

Allow copying from local devices to the cloud browser group only

    Watermark

When the watermark is enabled, the corresponding content is displayed in the cloud browser, supporting the following options:

    • Username

    • Cloud browser group ID

    • Current time of the cloud browser group

    • Username

    • Cloud browser group ID

    Web client file transfer

Control file uploads and downloads between the cloud browser web client and the local device.

    • Forbid upload and download

    • Upload only

    • Download only

    • Upload and download

Select the billing method for the cloud browser:

    • Subscription

If you select this method, you must also select a plan, subscription duration, and whether to enable auto-renewal.

    • Pay-as-you-go

    Pay-as-you-go

    Authorized users

You can authorize users by selecting By User or Add by User Group. If you add a user group, all users within that group are automatically authorized. The system periodically synchronizes authorization if the group's membership changes.

    Note

To revoke access for a user or user group, go to the cloud browser details page. On the authorization information tab, click Remove in the Actions column for the target user or user group.

After a cloud browser is created and assigned to users, they can access it in the following ways:

  • Use in a web browser

Open the access URL in a local browser and sign in with your credentials to start a session.

  • Use in the client

After a user is authorized, the cloud browser appears on the client's home page. Click Connect to start a session.

    Note

Accessing cloud browsers from iOS and Android clients is not currently supported.

Billing

Wuying Cloud Browser supports the following billing methods:

  • Subscription: A prepaid billing method for a specific plan and subscription period that is ideal for long-term, stable usage.

  • Pay-as-you-go: You are billed based on the actual duration of your sessions. This billing method requires no upfront payment and is ideal for on-demand scenarios.

FAQ

Q: Does a cloud browser have a fixed public egress IP address?

A: A cloud browser's public egress IP is determined by its associated office network. If the office network does not have a premium bandwidth plan, the IP address is dynamic and may change. To get a fixed public egress IP, bind a premium bandwidth plan to the office network.

Q: Why are browser extensions lost after I restart a cloud browser?

A: Cloud browsers are non-persistent. When a session ends, the environment is reset, and any changes, such as installed extensions, are lost.
