A resource group is a logical container for cloud computers that simplifies batch operations and centralized management.
Prerequisites

You have created the cloud computers to add to the resource group. For more information, see Create a cloud computer.

You have created the sub-administrators to authorize for resource group management. For more information, see Create a sub-administrator and set the authorization scope.

You have created the policies to associate with the resource group. For more information, see Create and manage cloud computer policies.

You have created the scheduled tasks to associate with the resource group. For more information, see Configure scheduled tasks.
Create a resource group
Create resource groups and move cloud computers between groups for bulk management.
Log on to the EDS enterprise console.

In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Management > Resource Group.

On the Resource Group page, click Create Resource Group and enter a name.
NoteThe name must be no more than 30 characters. It must start with a letter or Chinese character, and cannot start with
http://orhttps://. The name can contain Chinese characters, letters, digits, colons (:), underscores (_), periods (.), and hyphens (-). -
(Optional) Select Sync to Alibaba Cloud Resource Group to sync this resource group to Alibaba Cloud Resource Management.
NoteAfter the sync, this resource group appears in the Resource Management console under Resource Groups. You can then view billing statements by resource group (see Allocate the costs of ECS instances by resource group) and configure alert rules (in Monitoring and Alerts > Alert Rules and Records, select Add by Resource Group when creating a rule). The initial sync takes effect on T+1. After that, changes are synced in real time.

In the Configure Resources and Authorize dialog box, click Go Now.

On the Resource Management tab, click Transfer In. In the Transfer In panel, select the cloud computers to add and click OK.
After the resource group is created, click the resource group ID to go to its details page. Next to Sync to Alibaba Cloud Resource Group, you can check the sync status:

Synced: The Alibaba Cloud resource group ID is displayed. Click View to go to the Resource Management console and view the resource group details.

Not synced: Sync Now is displayed. Click it to sync the resource group.
Manage resources in a resource group
Log on to the EDS enterprise console.

In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Management > Resource Group.

On the Resource Group page, find the resource group, and in the Actions column, click Resource Management.

On the Resource Management tab, perform the following operations as needed:
NoteOn the Resource Management tab, click the filter icon in the User column, select Users Unassigned Resource, and click OK to filter for all idle resources.

Transfer in resources: Click Transfer In. In the Transfer In panel, select the cloud computers and click OK.

Remove resources: Select the cloud computers, click Remove at the bottom of the page, and click OK.

Move resources to another group: Select the cloud computers, click Move to Resource Group at the bottom of the page, select the destination resource group, and click OK.

Authorize an administrator
An authorized administrator can manage all cloud computers in the group within their authorization scope.
Log on to the EDS enterprise console.

In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Management > Resource Group.

On the Resource Group page, find the resource group, and in the Actions column, click Manage Authorization.

On the Manage Authorization tab, click Authorize Administrator. In the Authorize Administrator panel, select an administrator and click OK.
NoteIf no administrators are available in the panel, you can click Create Administrator at the bottom of the list.
Associate policies
A policy associated with a resource group applies to all cloud computers in the group and overrides any policies set on individual cloud computers.
Log on to the EDS enterprise console.

In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Management > Resource Group.

On the Resource Group page, find the resource group, and in the Actions column, click Associate Policy.

On the Manage Policy tab, perform the following operations as needed:

Change the required policy
A required policy applies to all IP addresses. Each resource group can have only one.

To add a required policy, on the Required Policy tab, click Add Policy, select a policy, and click OK.

To change the required policy, on the Required Policy tab, click Change Policy in the Actions column, select a new policy, and click OK.

To remove the required policy, on the Required Policy tab, click Disassociate in the Actions column.

Adjust optional policies
An optional policy applies to specific IP addresses. Each resource group can have up to four. Optional policies take priority over the required policy, and you can reorder them to adjust priority.

To add optional policies, on the Optional Policies tab, click Associate Policy, select one or more policies, and click OK.

To remove an optional policy, on the Optional Policies tab, click Disassociate in the Actions column.

Associate a scheduled task
A scheduled task associated with a resource group applies to all cloud computers in the group and overrides any scheduled tasks set on individual cloud computers.
Log on to the EDS enterprise console.

In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Management > Resource Group.

On the Resource Group page, find the resource group, click the ⋮ icon in the Actions column, and select Associate with Scheduled Task.

In the Associate with Scheduled Task panel, select a scheduled task and click OK.
