The built-in data migration tool enables you to migrate specific data from your local computer to a WUYING Workspace.
Prerequisites
You have created a custom policy and attached it to the WUYING Workspace.
Enable permissions in a cloud computer policy
Before an end user can use the data migration feature, an administrator must enable the permission in a custom workspace policy.
Procedure
WUYING Workspace Pro
Log on to the WUYING Workspace Pro console.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose Policies. In the policy list, find the target policy and click Modify Policy in the Actions column.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose Workspace Floating Bar Management. Turn on the Data Migration Tool switch.
WUYING Workspace Enterprise Edition
Log on to the WUYING Workspace Enterprise Edition console.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose Operations Management and then choose Policies.
In the policy list, find the target policy and click Modify Policy in the Actions column.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose Workspace Floating Bar Management. Turn on the Data Migration Tool switch.
Best practices
For administrators: If you are migrating data for many WUYING Workspaces, use workspace policies to grant data migration permissions in batches. This helps prevent bandwidth shortages during the migration.
For end users: To migrate a large volume of data from your local computer, such as large files or folders, compress the data before migration. This can significantly increase the transfer speed.
Migrate local data
Log on to a WUYING Terminal and connect to your WUYING Workspace.
On the workspace desktop, click the floating bar and choose File Transfer.
In the file transfer dialog box, click File Migration in the upper-right corner.
In the dialog box, select a migration method and click Start Migration.
Quick Migration: Automatically migrates all content from the Documents folder in the user directory of your local computer.
Manual Selection: Copies the selected files and folders to the WUYING Workspace.
(Optional) If you selected Manual Selection in the previous step, click Add, select the files or folders to migrate, and then click Start Migration again.
After the migration is complete, click Close in the data migration dialog box.
