The monitoring feature provides a comprehensive overview of your cloud computer resource usage and session connections. The alert feature works with metrics to report issues with your resources, helping you promptly identify and resolve them to ensure business continuity. This topic describes how to use the monitoring and alert features.
Configure alert contacts
An alert contact is a recipient of alert notifications.
Create an alert contact
Log on to the EDS enterprise console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Monitoring and Alerts > Notification and Alert Service.
Click the Contact Groups & Members tab, and then click the Name tab.
Click Create Contact. In the Create Contact panel, configure the parameters and click OK.
Name: The name of the contact.
Notification method: At least one method is required: mobile phone number, email address, or DingTalk chatbot.
NoteAfter you enter the webhook URL of a DingTalk chatbot, click test en4 to verify it. The chatbot becomes active only after a successful verification.
Notification language: You can select Chinese, English, or allow the system to automatically switch languages.
What to do next
Activate contact methods: The contact methods you specify are not immediately active. The system sends an activation notification for each method. The contact must use the information in the notification to complete activation for each method within 24 hours. Only activated contact methods can receive alert notifications. If an activation code expires, find the contact on the Name tab and click Resend Activation Code.
Configure alert contact groups
A contact group is a collection of contacts. When you configure an alert rule, you must assign it to a contact group, not an individual contact.
Create an alert contact group
Before creating a contact group, ensure you have created at least one contact.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Monitoring and Alerts > Notification and Alert Service.
Click the Contact Groups & Members tab, and then click the Contact Group tab.
Click Create Contact Group. In the Create Contact Group panel, configure the parameters and click OK.
Group name: The name of the contact group.
Remarks (Optional): A description of or other remarks about the contact group.
Add contacts: Select at least one contact.
NoteEnsure the contact methods for the alert contacts have been verified. Otherwise, the contacts cannot receive alert notifications.
Configure alert rules
An alert rule defines the conditions for triggering an alert, including the metric, threshold, severity, and effective time period.
Create an alert rule
Each alert rule must be assigned to a contact group. Before creating an alert rule, ensure you have created a contact group.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Monitoring and Alerts > Notification and Alert Service.
Click the Alert Rules & Records tab, and then click the Modify Alert Rule tab.
Click Create Alert Rule. In the Create Alert Rule panel, configure the following parameters and click Confirm.
Parameter
Description
Example
Rule name
The name of the alert rule.
CPU utilization alert
Alert source
Cloud Computer
Premium Bandwidth
Cloud Computer
Monitoring scope
All Resources: The rule applies to all cloud computers or Premium Bandwidth plans.
Cloud computer instance: The rule applies to selected cloud computers.
Premium Bandwidth: The rule applies to selected Premium Bandwidth plans.
All Resources
Metric type
Single Metric: Monitors only one metric. You can create multiple alert rules at different severity levels for the metric.
Multiple Metrics: Monitors multiple metrics. You can create a single alert rule with one severity level for all metrics by configuring composite trigger conditions.
Single Metric
Effective period
The period during which the alert rule is active.
08:00-09:59
Mute period
Prevents frequent notifications for a continuously triggered alert. After the mute period, a new notification is sent if the trigger condition is still met.
30 minutes
Alert contact group
The contact group that receives alert notifications.
O&M Group 1
Parameters for a single-metric rule
Metric
The metric to be monitored.
CPU utilization percentage.
Severity & Metric Threshold
The trigger conditions for different severity levels of the metric. You must configure a trigger condition for at least one severity level.
Info
Average > 80% for 3 consecutive periods
Parameters for a multi-metric rule
Severity
The notification methods vary based on the severity level:
Critical: phone call, SMS message, email, and DingTalk
Warning: SMS message, email, and DingTalk
Info: email and DingTalk
Info
Multi-metric alert condition
The trigger conditions for each metric. You can configure up to 10 conditions.
Average disk usage > 80%
Average memory usage > 60%
Metric relationship
Trigger alert when all conditions are met: Triggers an alert only if all conditions are met (logical AND).
Trigger alert when any condition is met: Triggers an alert if any condition is met (logical OR).
Trigger alert when any condition is met
Times threshold must be reached
The number of consecutive periods during which the composite trigger conditions must be met before an alert is triggered.
3 consecutive periods
Configure notification policies
Notification policies are predefined by Elastic Desktop Service (EDS) and cannot be created by users. When you enable a notification policy, notifications are sent according to your configured rules if the trigger conditions are met.
Set notification rules
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Monitoring and Alerts > Notification and Alert Service.
Click the Notification Policies & Records tab, and then click the Notification Policy tab.
Find the Notification Policy, click Configure Notification Rule in the Actions column, configure the parameters, and then click OK.
Resigned users
Supported account types: convenience accounts, DingTalk, WeCom, and Lark.
If you use one of the preceding types of accounts for end users of Elastic Desktop Service (EDS), the system sends a notification when the user account status changes to resigned.
After you receive the system notification, you can decide whether to delete the resigned account, transfer the user's assets, or delete or reassign the cloud computer allocated to the user, based on your business requirements or system recommendations.
