Choosing a product or plan
Alibaba Cloud DevOps Basic is free for an unlimited number of members.
If you need advanced features like DevOps Insights or Code Security, you can upgrade to the Advanced edition. If you need to increase your resource capacity, you can enable pay-as-you-go. For more details, see Plans and pricing.
Partial purchase of the Advanced edition
No. You must purchase licenses for all active members in your organization. To check the number of active members, go to Member Management on the admin console.
Although only some members may directly use the advanced features, the benefits apply to the entire team. For example, a single person might perform a code backup, but this action protects the data assets of all developers. Similarly, while only a few users might view the reports, the data in these reports is generated by everyone and provides a performance analysis for the entire organization.
Exceeding free quotas and increasing capacity
Exceeding your resource quotas may result in the following limitations:
-
Exceeding the pipeline concurrency limit queues new runs. They will start only after the concurrent tasks are complete.
-
If your total pipeline runtime duration for the month exceeds the monthly limit, you cannot run any more pipelines until the next month.
-
If your total Git/LFS storage exceeds the free quota, you will not be able to push new data.
-
If your total artifact storage exceeds the free quota, you will not be able to push new data.
To increase these resource quotas, you can enable pay-as-you-go for on-demand resources. For more information, see Pay-as-you-go rules.
Resource plan types and expiration
Alibaba Cloud DevOps offers two main types of resource plans: purchased resource plans and complimentary resource plans provided by Alibaba Cloud DevOps.
Purchased resource plans are those that users bought from Alibaba Cloud DevOps before December 31, 2024. These plans have been discontinued and are no longer available for purchase. For more information, see Announcement on Alibaba Cloud DevOps plan and billing adjustments.
Complimentary resource plans were offered to new customers between 2021 and 2022. They are valid for four years. The expiration date for each organization depends on when the plan was claimed. You can find the exact date on the Plan Information page on the admin console.
Both types of resource plans include higher free quotas than the default free tier. When your resource plan expires, your free quotas for code storage, pipeline builds, and artifact storage revert to the default values. If your resource usage exceeds these new, lower quotas, you must enable pay-as-you-go to avoid service interruptions. This may increase your costs. To view your specific usage and quota data, go to the Resources and Plans page on the admin console, or see Pay-as-you-go rules.
How to purchase
Only the Alibaba Cloud account that owns the instance or a RAM user under that account with the AliyunRDCFullAccess permission can make purchases.
Use the identity mentioned above to log on to the Alibaba Cloud DevOps console. In the instance management list, select the target instance and click its name to view the instance details. From there, you can purchase the Advanced Edition or enable pay-as-you-go.
In the DevOps Services section of the instance details page, find pay-as-you-go, and click Enable Now.
To purchase the Advanced edition directly, visit the Alibaba Cloud DevOps product page.
Finding your organization ID
The purchase page requires an organization ID and a purchaser user ID. If you start the purchase process from the admin console of your Alibaba Cloud DevOps organization, the system automatically fills in these fields.
To find your organization ID, you can use one of the following methods:
Method 1: Get the organization ID from any Alibaba Cloud DevOps page.
Method 2: Go to the admin console by clicking your profile picture in the upper-right corner of Alibaba Cloud DevOps and selecting "Admin Console". You can find the organization ID in the Basic Information section.
Late payment or renewal
If you do not renew your subscription on time, we will freeze all data in your Alibaba Cloud DevOps organization and restrict your operations.
-
For resource plans: If you fail to renew on time, the system automatically reduces your resource capacity to its level before you purchased the plan.
-
For the Advanced edition: If you fail to renew on time, the system automatically downgrades your plan to the Basic edition and restricts your operations.
-
For pay-as-you-go: If your account has an overdue balance, your operations will be restricted, and the corresponding resources and features will become unavailable.
You can resume normal operations once you complete the renewal payment. See the next section for renewal instructions.
Renewing orders placed by non-owners
Due to compliance requirements, starting January 3, 2025, only the organization owner's Alibaba Cloud account or a RAM user under that account with the AliyunRDCFullAccess permission can place an order.
If you are unable to renew a historical order because it was placed by a non-owner, choose one of the following solutions:
Option 1: Transfer ownership of the organization to the original purchaser. That user can then renew the order.
Option 2: Allow the historical order to expire. The current owner can then place a new order for future use and renewals.
Getting contracts and invoices
To access Billing Management, use the Alibaba Cloud account of the organization creator.
-
To get a contract, on the Contract Management page, click Apply for Contract in the upper-right corner.
-
To get an invoice, on the Invoice Management page, select the desired order, click Next, and then Submit Application.
On the Issue Invoice tab, select the Invoice by Order Line Items sub-tab.
