Student identity verification
Alibaba Cloud offers exclusive benefits to currently enrolled university students in the Chinese mainland. These benefits include coupons and low-cost Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances. This offer does not apply to students in Hong Kong (China), Macao (China), or Taiwan (China). Follow the instructions in this topic to complete your student identity verification. Then, go to the Alibaba Cloud for Universities Program to claim your benefits.
Limitations of student identity verification
Before you start the verification, be aware of the following restrictions:
Account binding: Each student, identified by their ID card number, can verify only one Alibaba Cloud account. Once verified, the status cannot be canceled or transferred to another account. Make sure to use an account that you plan to use long-term.
NoteIf you no longer use the Alibaba Cloud account that has completed Student Verification and need to switch to a new one, you must first unregister the original account. Then, you can complete Student Verification on a new account that has completed individual identity verification. For more information, see Unregister your Alibaba Cloud account.
Validity period: The student identity verification is valid for 30 days. After it expires, you can re-verify your status at any time as long as you are still an enrolled student. An expired status does not affect resources that you have already purchased, but it prevents you from receiving student discounts on future purchases.
Graduation or further studies: After you graduate, you are no longer eligible for student discounts. Your graduation status is based on your academic records on the China Higher-education Student Information and Career Center (CHESICC). If you pursue further studies, such as moving from an undergraduate to a graduate program, you must re-verify your student status for the new academic level.
Prerequisites
Before you start the verification, make sure you meet the following requirements:
You are an enrolled student at a university in the Chinese mainland. This includes junior college, undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students.
Your Alibaba Cloud account has completed individual identity verification. Accounts with enterprise verification are not supported.
Procedure
You can complete the verification on the aliyun.com website or using the Alibaba Cloud app.
PC client
Go to the student verification page.
From the Account Center
Log on to Account Center. On the Overview page, in the My Account section, click the
icon next to Student Verification.
Use the Alipay mobile app that is associated with the same identity verification to scan the QR code on the Student Verification panel.
Access through the Benefits Center
Go to the Alibaba Cloud for Universities Program page. In the General Benefits for University Students section, click Claim After Student Verification.
In the Scan QR Code to Complete Student Verification dialog box, use the Alipay app to scan the QR code. The identity verification information of your Alipay account must match that of your Alibaba Cloud account.
On the Alibaba Cloud Student Channel page in Alipay, confirm your account and identity information, and then click Proceed to Student Verification.
Click Agree to confirm that the identity information of your Alibaba Cloud account matches that of your Alipay account.
Click Agree to allow Alibaba Cloud to query your student status from Alipay.
After the verification is successful, you can enjoy the exclusive student benefits provided by Alibaba Cloud.
Alibaba Cloud app
Open the Alibaba Cloud app. In the navigation bar at the bottom, click the Discover tab. In the upper section, click Inclusive Benefits. Then, click the Universities tab and click Claim After Student Verification.
In the Claim Failed dialog box, click Claim After Student Verification again to go to the Alibaba Cloud Student Channel page in Alipay.
Confirm your account and identity information, and then click Proceed to Student Verification.
Click Agree to confirm that the identity information of your Alibaba Cloud account matches that of your Alipay account.
Click Agree to allow Alibaba Cloud to query your student status from Alipay.
After the verification is successful, you can enjoy the exclusive student benefits provided by Alibaba Cloud.
FAQ
What are the benefits of student verification?
After you complete student verification, you can go to the Alibaba Cloud for Universities Program page to claim a CNY 300 coupon with no minimum spending requirement. You can use this coupon to purchase subscription and pay-as-you-go products from the Student Coupon Center.
What do I do if I do not receive the coupon after student verification?
Follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Each student ID can be used to claim the CNY 300 coupon only once per year (365 days).
NoteIf you have claimed the CNY 300 coupon, it remains valid for one year, even if your student identity verification expires during that period. Unused coupons automatically expire after one year. You can claim a new coupon the following year.
Go to the Alibaba Cloud for Universities Program page to claim it again.

What do I do if my academic records cannot be found during student verification?
This may happen because of data synchronization delays from CHESICC or because you entered incorrect information. Try the following steps to resolve the issue:
Verify that the personal information you entered during verification, such as your name, ID card number, and enrollment year, matches the information on CHESICC.
Confirm whether your university is one of Alibaba Cloud's partner institutions. Not all universities support Alibaba Cloud student verification.
Wait and try again later. It may take some time for academic record updates to sync to Alipay.
