This topic describes how to configure a service LDC (logical data center) for a multi-active instance.

Prerequisites

You must have selected the required regions in the Activate Region Configuration section on the Multi-active Foundation > Module Activation page.

Create a service LDC

  1. Log on to the Multi-active Disaster Recovery MSHA console.

  2. In the Multi-active Disaster Recovery Management Platform, choose Multi-active Foundation > service LDC in the navigation pane on the left.

  3. On the Service LDC page, click Add Service LDC.

    1. Enter the service LDC information.

      Parameter

      Description

      Service type name

The name of the service type, such as e-commerce product discovery or e-commerce order placement.

      Service type ID

The unique identifier for the service type. Only letters, digits, hyphens (-), and underscores (_) are supported.

    2. In the LDC section, click Add Logical Unit.

      Parameter

      Description

      Select region

Select the region where the unit is located.

      Logical unit ID

The unique identifier for the logical unit.

      Logical unit name

The name of the logical unit.

      Role

Select a role for the unit. If you set one unit as the central unit, the other automatically becomes a normal unit.

      Included availability zones

The availability zones that the logical unit includes.

    3. Click Add Logical Cell.

      Parameter

      Description

      Cell ID

The unique identifier for the cell.

      Cell name

      The name of the cell.

      Availability zone

      This parameter is optional.

      • If you select an availability zone, all application instances launched within that zone belong to this cell.

      • If you leave this field blank, you must specify which logical cell an application instance belongs to by using the -Dmsha.unit.cell JVM parameter.

      Traffic isolation

If you enable traffic isolation, the traffic percentage for this cell is fixed at 0%. Traffic is routed to this cell only after you configure custom traffic rules.

  4. Click OK to create the service LDC.

Edit a service LDC

  1. On the Service LDC page, click Edit in the Action column for the service LDC that you want to change.

  2. Click OK to save your changes.

Clone a service LDC

  1. On the Service LDC page, click Clone in the Action column for the service LDC that you want to copy.

  2. Click OK. This creates a new service LDC based on the cloned configuration.

Delete a service LDC

On the Service LDC page, click Delete in the Action column for the service LDC that you want to remove. You can delete a service LDC even if it contains logical unit definitions.
