Agent observability
Agent observability is an eBPF-based feature that collects fine-grained data across the entire runtime of AI agents without intruding on your business logic. The collected data is mainly the token consumption of each session. You can view the token usage and session data of agent applications in the Operating System console.
Limits
Data retention — Agent observability data is stored in Simple Log Service (SLS) for a maximum of 7 days. Data older than 7 days is automatically deleted, and you can query only the data from the last 7 days.
Coding Plan — Agent observability does not support token statistics for Coding Plan. If you use Coding Plan, the input and output token counts may be 0.
Prerequisites
Agent observability is currently available only in the Chinese mainland and China (Hong Kong).
Agent observability is supported on x86 instances that run Alibaba Cloud Linux 4, Alibaba Cloud Linux 3, Alibaba Cloud Linux 2, Ubuntu 22.04, or Ubuntu 24.04.
Agent observability applies only to instances that run OpenClaw or Hermes applications.
Enable Agent observability
Create a configuration
Log on to the Operating System console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Component Management.
Create a configuration and enter a configuration name related to Agent observability.
Activate the configuration
In the left-side navigation pane of the Operating System console, choose System Management.
Locate the instances that enable Agent observability through a management plan.
Set the configuration of the SysOM component to the Agent observability configuration that you created.
Click Submit. Agent observability is enabled.
View token usage
Log on to the Operating System console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Agent observability > Token analysis.
Configure the query parameters.
Parameter Description Time range Select the time range for which you want to view the token usage. Instance ID Select the instance where the agent application is deployed. Data source Select the process of the agent application. Click Query. The token usage results panel appears.
The results panel contains the following information:
Sessions: the number of sessions, the total number of input tokens, and the total number of output tokens.
Token time-series charts: the token usage trend by input, output, and total tokens, and the token usage trend by model.
Session records: the token usage records of each session.
If you use Coding Plan, the input and output token counts may be 0 because Agent observability does not support token statistics for Coding Plan. For more information, see Limits.
