Add and manage database accounts

After importing a database, you can add its existing accounts to Bastionhost. O&M engineers can then use these accounts to log on to the database. This topic describes how to add, rename, and delete database accounts, and clear their passwords.

Add database account

  1. Log on to the Bastionhost console. In the top navigation bar, select the region where your Bastionhost instance is located.

  2. In the list of Bastionhost instances, find the target instance and click Manage.

  3. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Assets > Database.

  4. In the database instance list, find the target database instance.

    • Add a single database account

      In the Actions column, click Add Database Account. In the Add Database Account panel, enter the logon name and password, and then click Create.

    • Add database accounts in bulk

      Select one or more database instances. At the bottom of the list, choose Batch > Database Account > Add Account. In the Add Account dialog box, configure the account parameters and click Create.

Clear database account password

  1. Log on to the Bastionhost console. In the top navigation bar, select the region where your Bastionhost instance is located.

  2. In the list of Bastionhost instances, find the target instance and click Manage.

  3. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Assets > Database.

  4. In the database instance list, click the number in the Database Accounts column.

  5. In the list of database accounts, click Clear in the Password column.

Rename database account

  1. Log on to the Bastionhost console. In the top navigation bar, select the region where your Bastionhost instance is located.

  2. In the list of Bastionhost instances, find the target instance and click Manage.

  3. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Assets > Database.

  4. In the database instance list, click the number in the Database Accounts column.

  5. In the list of database accounts, click the account name in the Logon Name column. In the Modify Database Account panel, modify the information and click Update.

Delete database account

  1. Log on to the Bastionhost console. In the top navigation bar, select the region where your Bastionhost instance is located.

  2. In the list of Bastionhost instances, find the target instance and click Manage.

  3. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Assets > Database.

  4. In the database instance list, click the number in the Database Accounts column.

    • Delete a single database account

      In the list of database accounts, select the account that you want to delete and click Delete. In the confirmation dialog box, click Delete.

    • Delete database accounts in bulk

      Select one or more database accounts. At the bottom of the list, choose Batch > Database Account > Delete Account. In the Delete Account dialog box, click OK.
