This topic explains how to activate the sample project, details the resources that are automatically created, and lists the configuration steps that are skipped.

Activate the sample project

Note
  • You must use an account with the Enterprise Admin role to activate the sample project.

  • Follow the guided steps to activate the sample project. The activation process takes about 20 seconds.

  • You can activate only one sample project. To rebuild the sample project, first delete the existing one, and then reactivate it. For more information, see Step 6: Delete the sample project.

You can activate the sample project in one of two ways.

  • After you log on to BizWorks, click Activate Sample Project on the page that prompts you to select a platform project. At the bottom of the Select Platform Project page, click the Activate Sample Project banner to start the activation process.

In the Activate Sample Project dialog box, select I have read and understood the above content and click Start Activation.

  • On the Platform Project Management page, click Activate Sample Project. In the Activate Sample Project dialog box, select I have read and understood the above content and click Start Activation. In the secondary confirmation dialog box, click Start Activation.

To learn how to go to the Platform Project Management page, see Manage projects.

After activation, the project overview section on the platform homepage displays metrics for environments, applications, and running instances. The My Applications section displays the activated sample application, Sample-Commodity-Center, which is version v1.0.0 and has a status of In Development.

Pre-provisioned resources

After you activate the sample project, BizWorks automatically performs the following actions:

  • Creates two bounded contexts: a User context and a Commodity context.

The User context has the code User and belongs to the user domain. The Commodity context has the code Commodity and belongs to the commodity domain. Both contexts are version v1.0.0 (In Development).

  • Creates a sample central application and associates it with the Commodity context. The sample project includes an application named Sample-Commodity-Center with the code bw-demo-app-157632c894 and the type Central Application (Sample). On the Application List page, you can Edit Properties or Delete this application. You can also create a new application by clicking the New Application button.

  • Adds the platform resources required for the application's runtime, such as container resources, an image repository, and a Maven repository. For more information about platform resources, see Platform resource management overview.

    Note

The platform resources used by the sample application are not visible in the console.

  • Adds basic information to the O&M platform, such as the capability catalog, capability map, and content customization for the official website. This information helps with configuration during the capability launch phase.

Account roles

To simplify the process of using the sample project, use an account with the Enterprise Admin or Project Owner role. For more information about the BizWorks account system, see Platform Accounts and Permissions.
