Connect using the SIP protocol

This topic describes how to connect using the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).

Overview

Cloud Contact Center supports connecting to your company's existing landline numbers through a SIP Trunk. This lets you use your own numbers for inbound and outbound calls. After the connection is complete, you are responsible for settling communication fees for the number with your carrier. Cloud Contact Center does not charge fees for the connection or for using the number.

Connecting your own number involves two steps:

1. Create a SIP channel and configure a SIP device or SIP relay.

2. Add numbers to the SIP channel.

Scenarios

You can connect your existing business numbers to the Cloud Contact Center platform. Integrating the SIP protocol into your call center system enables phone calls and multimedia communication.

What information do you need from your number's carrier?

  1. Determine whether your line is an analog, E1, or T1 line. If you are unsure, contact your carrier to confirm the line type.

  2. Cloud Contact Center does not provide voice gateway devices. You must purchase your own device that supports connections using the SIP protocol.

  3. After your carrier provides the IP address for the line, both parties must confirm that the connection requirements are met. Then, schedule a time for joint testing.

Device requirements and connection instructions

Add numbers

After you add the line, our operations team configures your business numbers to use that line. For assistance with the connection, contact our pre-sales team by adding the service account: cccsupport2.
