Stop billing for Cloud Backup

Once activated, Cloud Backup cannot be deactivated. If you no longer need Cloud Backup, follow the steps in this topic to stop billing for each data source. This stops billing on the same day, preventing further charges. After deleting the backup vault, billing for the Cloud Backup service stops the following day.

Stop billing for backups

ECS backup

ECS file backup essential edition

Warning

Canceling the backup for an ECS instance permanently deletes all its backup data and configuration information. This information cannot be recovered.

  1. In the left-side navigation pane of the Cloud Backup console, choose Back Up > ECS File Backup Essential Edition.

  2. At the top of the page, select the region where the instance resides. Then, in the Actions column for the instance, click Stop Backup.

  3. In the dialog box that appears, click OK.

    Cloud Backup deletes all backup points for the instance and stops billing for the ECS instance. You are no longer billed for the capacity of the attached block storage.

ECS backup essential edition

  1. In the left-side navigation pane of the Cloud Backup console, choose Back Up > ECS Backup Essential Edition.

  2. At the top of the page, select the region where the instance resides.

  3. Unbind the instance.

    Warning

    Unbinding a subscription instance permanently deletes all its backup data and configuration information. This information cannot be recovered.

    1. In the Actions column for the target ECS instance, choose More > Unbind.

    2. Carefully read the notes in the dialog box and select the I already understand the impact of the unbinding and have confirmed to unbind the instances. checkbox.

    3. Click OK.

      After the instance is unbound, it no longer appears on the ECS Backup Essential Edition page.

  4. Unsubscribe from the subscription instance.

    1. Click View Subscription Instances.

    2. In the View Subscription Instances panel, find the subscription instance bound to the ECS instance, and click Unsubscribe in the Actions column.

    3. On the unsubscription management page, follow the on-screen instructions to unsubscribe from the resource.

ECS standard backup

To stop billing, follow the instructions for the backup feature you are using.

ECS database backup

  1. In the left-side navigation pane of the Cloud Backup console, choose Back Up > Database Backup.

  2. Delete a backup plan.

    Click the Backup Plans tab. Find the backup plan that you want to delete. In the Actions column, choose > Delete Plan. Confirm the delete operation.

  3. Unregister the database instance.

    Warning

    Unregistering an instance permanently deletes all its backup data and configuration information. This information cannot be recovered.

    On the ECS Database Instance tab, find the target instance. In the Actions column, choose More > Unregister Instance. Then, confirm the unregistration. When you unregister an ECS database instance, Cloud Backup automatically uninstalls the backup client. If the backup client fails to uninstall, log on to the ECS instance to manually uninstall the backup client.

  4. Clean up the configuration files.

    MySQL

    Linux:

    rm -rf /etc/default/dbackup3*
    rm -rf /opt/scutech
    rm -rf /var/opt/scutech/
    rm -rf /var/log/dbackup3/
    rm -rf /etc/opt/scutech/

    Oracle

    • Windows:

      Delete all configuration files in the c:\programdata\scutech directory.

    • Linux:

      rm -rf /etc/default/dbackup3*
      rm -rf /opt/scutech
      rm -rf /var/opt/scutech/
      rm -rf /var/log/dbackup3/
      rm -rf /etc/opt/scutech/

    SQL Server

    Windows:

    Delete all configuration files in the c:\programdata\scutech directory.

  5. Delete a backup vault.

    Warning

    After a backup vault is deleted, all its backup data and configuration information are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Proceed with caution to prevent data loss.

    1. Click Storage Vaults and select a region. Find the backup vault that you want to delete, and in the Actions column, choose > Delete.

    2. In the confirmation dialog box, click OK to delete the vault.

      Important

      If the backup vault cannot be deleted, the backup lock feature may be enabled for the vault. The vault and all its backup data cannot be deleted before they expire. Wait for the backup data to expire, and then delete the backup vault.

ECS file backup

  1. In the left-side navigation pane of the Cloud Backup console, choose Back Up > ECS File Backup.

  2. Delete backup points.

    On the Backup Plans tab, find the target backup plan and click the image icon to its left. In the Backup History section, delete the backup points and confirm the deletion.

  3. (Optional) If the backup policy is associated with resources by using tags, you must unbind the resource tags to remove the ECS files from the backup policy.

  4. Delete a backup plan.

    Click the Backup Plans tab. Find the backup plan that you want to delete. In the Actions column, choose > Delete Plan. Confirm the delete operation.

  5. Uninstall the backup client.

    Warning

    Uninstalling the backup client permanently deletes its configuration information. This information cannot be recovered.

    In the left-side navigation pane, choose Backup > ECS File Backup, and select a region. Find the target instance. In the Actions column, choose More > Uninstall Client. In the dialog box that appears, click Confirmation. After a few minutes, the client status changes to Uninstalled.

  6. Delete the backup.

    On the ECS Instances tab, find the target instance. In the Actions column, choose More > Delete Backup. Confirm the deletion to remove the backup data.

  7. Delete a backup vault.

    Warning

    After a backup vault is deleted, all its backup data and configuration information are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Proceed with caution to prevent data loss.

    1. Click Storage Vaults and select a region. Find the backup vault that you want to delete, and in the Actions column, choose > Delete.

    2. In the confirmation dialog box, click OK to delete the vault.

      Important

      If the backup vault cannot be deleted, the backup lock feature may be enabled for the vault. The vault and all its backup data cannot be deleted before they expire. Wait for the backup data to expire, and then delete the backup vault.

ECS instance backup

Important

When you stop billing for ECS instance backup, you are no longer charged for the Cloud Backup service itself. However, charges for snapshots continue until all backup points expire or you manually delete them.

  1. In the left-side navigation pane of the Cloud Backup console, choose Back Up > ECS Instance Backup.

  2. (Optional) If the backup policy is associated with resources by using tags, you must unbind the resource tags to remove the ECS instance from the backup policy.

  3. On the Backed-up ECS Instances tab, find the target ECS instance. In the Actions column, choose More > Delete Plan. In the dialog box that appears, confirm the deletion.

  4. On the Backed-up ECS Instances tab, find the target ECS instance. In the Actions column, choose More > Delete Backup Point, select all backup points, and then confirm the deletion.

  5. On the Backed-up ECS Instances tab, find the target ECS instance. In the Actions column, choose More > Remove ECS. Confirm the removal to remove the ECS instance from this list.

Disk backup

  1. In the left-side navigation pane of the Cloud Backup console, choose Back Up > Disk Backup.

  2. Delete backup points.

    On the Protected Disk tab, find the target disk and click the image icon to its left. In the Backup History section, delete the backup points and confirm the deletion.

  3. Cancel the backup.

    On the Protected Disk tab, find the target disk and click Stop Backup in the Actions column. Then, confirm the cancellation.

SAP HANA backup

  1. In the left-side navigation pane of the Cloud Backup console, choose Back Up > SAP HANA Backup.

  2. Delete a backup plan.

    Click the Backup Plans tab. Find the backup plan that you want to delete. In the Actions column, choose > Delete Plan. Confirm the delete operation.

  3. Delete the instance.

    On the SAP HANA Instances tab, find the target instance, choose More > Delete in the Actions column, and confirm the deletion.

  4. Delete a backup vault.

    Warning

    After a backup vault is deleted, all its backup data and configuration information are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Proceed with caution to prevent data loss.

    1. Click Storage Vaults and select a region. Find the backup vault that you want to delete, and in the Actions column, choose > Delete.

    2. In the confirmation dialog box, click OK to delete the vault.

      If the backup vault cannot be deleted, the backup lock feature may be enabled for the vault. The vault and all its backup data cannot be deleted before they expire. Wait for the backup data to expire, and then delete the backup vault.

OSS backup

  1. In the left-side navigation pane of the Cloud Backup console, choose Back Up > OSS Backup.

  2. (Optional) If the backup policy is associated with resources by using tags, you must unbind the resource tags to remove the Object Storage Service (OSS) buckets from the backup policy.

  3. Delete a backup plan.

    Click the Backup Plans tab. Find the backup plan that you want to delete. In the Actions column, choose > Delete Plan. Confirm the delete operation.

  4. Delete a backup vault.

    Warning

    After a backup vault is deleted, all its backup data and configuration information are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Proceed with caution to prevent data loss.

    1. Click Storage Vaults and select a region. Find the backup vault that you want to delete, and in the Actions column, choose > Delete.

    2. In the confirmation dialog box, click OK to delete the vault.

NAS backup

Alibaba Cloud NAS

  1. In the left-side navigation pane of the Cloud Backup console, choose Back Up > NAS Backup.

  2. At the top of the page, click Alibaba Cloud NAS.

  3. (Optional) If the backup policy is associated with resources by using tags, you must unbind the resource tags to remove the Alibaba Cloud NAS file systems from the backup policy.

  4. Delete a backup plan.

    Click the Backup Plans tab. Find the backup plan that you want to delete. In the Actions column, choose > Delete Plan. Confirm the delete operation.

  5. Remove the backup mount target.

    On the Backup Plan tab, click Manage Mounts. On the Manage Mounts page, find the target file system and click Remove Mount Target in the Actions column. In the dialog box, click Confirmation to remove the mount target.

  6. Delete a backup vault.

    Warning

    After a backup vault is deleted, all its backup data and configuration information are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Proceed with caution to prevent data loss.

    1. Click Storage Vaults and select a region. Find the backup vault that you want to delete, and in the Actions column, choose > Delete.

    2. In the confirmation dialog box, click OK to delete the vault.

On-premises NAS

  1. In the left-side navigation pane of the Cloud Backup console, choose Back Up > NAS Backup.

  2. At the top of the page, click Local NAS.

  3. Delete backup points.

    On the NAS Instance tab, click the image icon to the left of the target NAS instance. On the Backup Plan Details tab, delete the backup points in the Backup History section and confirm the deletion.

  4. Delete the backup plan.

    On the NAS Instance tab, find the target NAS instance and click the image icon to its left. On the Backup Plan Details tab, choose More > Delete Plan in the Actions column. In the dialog box that appears, confirm the deletion.

  5. Delete the client group.

    On the NAS Instance tab, click View Client Groups.

    On the View Client Groups page, find the client group of the target data source. In the Actions column, click Delete. In the dialog box that appears, click Confirmation.

  6. Uninstall the Cloud Backup client.

  7. Delete backups.

    In the navigation pane on the left, click On-Premises File Backup. On the Clients tab, find the uninstalled client and choose > Delete Backup. Confirm that you want to delete the backup data for the client.

  8. Delete the NAS instance.

    On the NAS Instance tab, find the target NAS instance. In the Actions column, choose More > Delete. In the dialog box that appears, confirm the deletion.

  9. Delete a backup vault.

    Warning

    After a backup vault is deleted, all its backup data and configuration information are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Proceed with caution to prevent data loss.

    1. Click Storage Vaults and select a region. Find the backup vault that you want to delete, and in the Actions column, choose > Delete.

Tablestore backup

  1. In the left-side navigation pane of the Cloud Backup console, choose Back Up > Tablestore Backup.

  2. (Optional) If the backup policy is associated with resources by using tags, you must unbind the resource tags to remove the Tablestore instances from the backup policy.

  3. Delete a backup plan.

    Click the Backup Plans tab. Find the backup plan that you want to delete. In the Actions column, choose > Delete Plan. Confirm the delete operation.

  4. Delete a backup vault.

    Warning

    After a backup vault is deleted, all its backup data and configuration information are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Proceed with caution to prevent data loss.

    1. Click Storage Vaults and select a region. Find the backup vault that you want to delete, and in the Actions column, choose > Delete.

CPFS backup

  1. In the left-side navigation pane of the Cloud Backup console, choose Back Up > CPFS Backup.

  2. Delete the backup plan.

    Click the image icon to the left of the target data source. On the Backup Plan Details tab, find the target backup plan and choose More > Delete Plan in the Actions column. In the dialog box that appears, confirm the deletion.

  3. Delete the client group.

    On the Data Source List tab, click View Client Groups.

    On the View Client Groups page, find the client group of the target data source. In the Actions column, click Delete. In the dialog box that appears, click Confirmation.

  4. Uninstall the Cloud Backup client.

  5. Delete backups.

    In the navigation pane on the left, click On-Premises File Backup. On the Clients tab, find the uninstalled client and choose > Delete Backup. Confirm that you want to delete the backup data for the client.

  6. Delete the data source.

    On the Data Source List tab, find the target data source. In the Actions column, choose More > Delete. Then, confirm the deletion.

On-premises database backup

  1. In the left-side navigation pane of the Cloud Backup console, choose Back Up > Database Backup.

  2. Delete a backup plan.

    Click the Backup Plans tab. Find the backup plan that you want to delete. In the Actions column, choose > Delete Plan. Confirm the delete operation.

  3. Unregister the database instance.

    Warning

    Unregistering an instance permanently deletes all its backup data and configuration information. This information cannot be recovered.

    On the Local Database Instance tab, find the target instance. In the Actions column, choose More > Unregister Instance. Then, confirm the unregistration.

  4. Log on to the on-premises server and uninstall the backup client.

    MySQL

    Linux:

    • CentOS

      sudo rpm --erase "dbackup3-agent-mysql"
      sudo rpm --erase "dbackup3-agent"
      sudo rpm --erase "dbackup3-common"
    • Ubuntu

      sudo dpkg -r "dbackup3-agent-mysql" "dbackup3-agent" "dbackup3-common"

    • Windows:

      1. In PowerShell, go to the backup client installation directory. For example, C:\Program Files\aliyun\unibackup.

      2. Run the command.

         .\uninstall-unibackup.exe /S /NCRC
    • Linux:

      • CentOS

        sudo rpm --erase "dbackup3-agent-oracle"
        sudo rpm --erase "dbackup3-agent"
        sudo rpm --erase "dbackup3-common"
      • Ubuntu

        sudo dpkg -r "dbackup3-agent-oracle" "dbackup3-agent" "dbackup3-common"

    SQL Server

    Windows:

    1. In PowerShell, go to the backup client installation directory. For example, C:\Program Files\aliyun\unibackup.

    2. Run the uninstall-unibackup.exe command and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation.

  5. Clean up the configuration files.

    MySQL

    Linux:

    rm -rf /etc/default/dbackup3*
    rm -rf /opt/scutech
    rm -rf /var/opt/scutech/
    rm -rf /var/log/dbackup3/
    rm -rf /etc/opt/scutech/

    Oracle

    • Windows:

On-premises file backup

  1. In the left-side navigation pane of the Cloud Backup console, choose Back Up > On-Premises File Backup.

  2. Delete a backup plan.

    Click the Backup Plans tab. Find the backup plan that you want to delete. In the Actions column, choose > Delete Plan. Confirm the delete operation.

  3. Uninstall the Cloud Backup client.

  4. Delete backups.

    In the navigation pane on the left, click On-Premises File Backup. On the Clients tab, find the uninstalled client and choose > Delete Backup. Confirm that you want to delete the backup data for the client.

  5. Delete a backup vault.

VMware backup and disaster recovery

  1. In the left-side navigation pane of the Cloud Backup console, choose Back Up > VMware Backup & Disaster Recovery.

  2. Delete a backup plan.

    Click the Backup Plans tab. Find the backup plan that you want to delete. In the Actions column, choose > Delete Plan. Confirm the delete operation.

  3. Delete the vCenter server.

    On the Managed vCenter Servers tab, find the target vCenter server. In the Actions column, choose More > Delete. Then, confirm the deletion.

  4. Delete the disaster recovery gateway.

    On the Backup & Disaster Recovery Gateway tab, find the target disaster recovery gateway. In the Actions column, choose More > Delete. Then, confirm the deletion.

  5. Delete a backup vault.

    Warning

    After a backup vault is deleted, all its backup data and configuration information are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Proceed with caution to prevent data loss.

    1. Click Storage Vaults and select a region. Find the backup vault that you want to delete, and in the Actions column, choose > Delete.

Container backup

  1. Log on to the Cloud Backup console.

  2. Delete a backup vault.

    Warning

    After a backup vault is deleted, all its backup data and configuration information are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Proceed with caution to prevent data loss.

    1. Click Storage Vaults and select a region. Find the backup vault that you want to delete, and in the Actions column, choose > Delete.

    2. In the confirmation dialog box, click OK to delete the vault.

Stop archive billing

  1. In the left-side navigation pane of the Cloud Backup console, click Archive.

  2. Delete the archive plan.

    On the Archive Plan tab, find the target archive plan and choose > Delete Plan in the Actions column. In the dialog box that appears, confirm the deletion.

  3. Delete the client group.

    On the Analyze and Archive tab, click View Client Groups.

    On the View Client Groups page, find the client group associated with the target data source and click Delete in the Actions column. In the dialog box that appears, click Confirmation to delete the group.

  4. Uninstall the Cloud Backup client.

  5. Delete backups.

    In the navigation pane on the left, click On-Premises File Backup. On the Clients tab, find the uninstalled client and choose > Delete Backup. Confirm that you want to delete the backup data for the client.

  6. Delete the data source.

    On the Analyze and Archive tab, find the target data source and choose > Unregister Data Source on the right. When prompted, confirm the unregistration.

  7. Delete the archive vault.

    In the left-side navigation pane, click Storage Vaults, and then select a region. Find the target archive vault and choose > Delete in the Actions column. In the dialog box that appears, confirm the deletion.

Stop billing for ECS disaster recovery

Async disk replication

  1. In the left-side navigation pane of the Cloud Backup console, choose Disaster Recovery > ECS Disaster Recovery.

  2. Delete the drill protection group.

    1. Switch to the async disk replication disaster recovery type. On the Site Pairs page, click the target site pair.

    2. Click the Fault Drill tab. In the Actions column for the target drill protection group, click Delete Fault Drill Group. This action deletes resources created during the drill, such as ECS instances, disks, elastic network interfaces (ENIs), snapshots, and images.

  3. Remove the instance from the protection group.

    1. On the Protection Group tab, click Manage Protected Instance in the Actions column.

    2. In the list of protected instances, click Remove Protected Instance in the Actions column.

  4. Delete the protection group.

    On the Protection Group tab, click the image..png icon in the Actions column for the target protection group, and choose Protection Group Management > Delete.

  5. Delete the vSwitch and security group mappings.

    On the Network & Security tab, delete the vSwitch and security group mappings.

  6. Delete the site pair.

    In the list of site pairs, click Delete in the Actions column for the target site pair.

Continuous replication

  1. In the left navigation bar of the Cloud Backup console, select Disaster Recovery > ECS Disaster Recovery.

  2. Switch to continuous replication disaster recovery. On the Overview page, click the drop-down list in the upper-right corner, and select the target site pair.

  3. Click the Protected Server tab and select the protected server that you want to remove. If the Server Status is Start Replication, Full Replication in Progress, Real-time Replication in Progress, or Replication Start Error, click Stop Replication.

  4. Wait for the copy task to finish, and then click Unregister. The protected server is successfully removed when the list of protected servers is empty.

Stop data synchronization billing

  1. In the left-side navigation pane of the Cloud Backup console, choose Synchronization > Data Synchronization.

  2. Delete the sync plan.

    On the Sync Plan tab, find the target plan. In the Actions column, choose More > Delete Plan and follow the prompts.

  3. Delete the client group.

    On the Data Source List tab, click View Client Groups.

    On the View Client Groups page, find the client group for the target data source. In the Actions column, click delete and then click Confirmation.

  4. Uninstall the Cloud Backup client.

  5. Delete backups.

    In the navigation pane on the left, click On-Premises File Backup. On the Clients tab, find the uninstalled client and choose > Delete Backup. Confirm that you want to delete the backup data for the client.

  6. Delete the data source.

    On the Data Source List tab, find the target data source. In the Actions column, choose More > Unregister Data Source and follow the prompts.
