Use CloudMonitor Event Center to track backup job status in real time, and configure alert settings to receive notifications when jobs fail or the backup client disconnects. Event monitoring is free of charge.

CloudMonitor Event Center

Note

CloudMonitor Event Center only reports system events for the following data sources: Apsara File Storage NAS (NAS) files, Object Storage Service (OSS) objects, Tablestore tables, and Elastic Compute Service (ECS) files.

CloudMonitor Event Center lets you monitor backup job events in real time. The following event types are supported:

Event type

Description

Completion

The backup job completed successfully.

Partial completion

The backup job completed with some items skipped or failed.

Failure

The backup job failed.

Cancellation

The backup job was cancelled before it finished.

Expiration

The backup job or recovery point has expired.

To view events, log on to the CloudMonitor console. In the left-side navigation pane, choose System Event, and then click the Event Monitoring tab. Select Cloud Backup as the product. You can filter events by level and name, and specify a time range.

The page shows a bar chart of event frequency at the top and an event list below. The list includes the time, product name, event name, level, region, resource, and content for each event. To inspect a specific event — for example, a Backup:Job:Complete (Backup job completed) event with level INFO — click Details.

Configure alert settings for data backup

By default, Cloud Backup sends an alert email to your Alibaba Cloud account when a backup job fails or the backup client disconnects from the server. You can also specify additional alert contacts, alert contact groups, and alert notification methods for the backup client or a specific backup vault.

See Set alerts for ECS file backup.
