Use tags
You can use client tags to identify and categorize Cloud Backup client resources. Tags let you group clients that serve the same purpose, simplifying searches and resource management.
Prerequisites
You have the required permissions and have installed a backup client. For more information, see Install a backup client.
Background
You can assign tags to different on-premises backup clients to categorize and manage them. For example, in team or project management, you can assign tags to clients by project or department, such as project:a. This grouping helps you quickly filter and manage specific clients during routine maintenance.
Notes
-
Each tag consists of a key-value pair.
-
A tag key must be unique per client.
For example, if a client is tagged with
company:a, and you later add the tagcompany:b, the original tag is automatically overwritten bycompany:b. -
Tags are specific to a region. For example, a tag created in the China (Hangzhou) region is not visible in the China (Shanghai) region.
