Cloud Monitor blocks alert notifications based on blacklist policies. You can add specific metrics of a cloud service to a blacklist policy to suppress notifications when thresholds are reached.

Background information

Blacklist policies support only threshold metrics. System events are not supported. For more information about supported cloud services and threshold metrics, see Appendix 1: Metrics.

Create a blacklist policy

Before you begin: Ensure you have created a threshold-based alert rule. For more information, see Create an alert rule.

  1. Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Alerts > Alert Blacklists.

  3. On the Alert Blacklists page, click Create Blacklist Policy.

  4. In the Create Blacklist Policy panel, configure the parameters for the blacklist policy.

Table 1. Parameters of a blacklist policy

    Parameter

    Description

    Name

The name of the blacklist policy.

    Product

The name of the cloud service.

    Associated Resources

The resources associated with the cloud service.

    Metric

The metrics used to monitor the specified resources.

    • If you select a metric, the blacklist policy takes effect only on the selected metric.

    • If you do not select a metric, the blacklist policy takes effect on all metrics.

    Effective Scope

The effective scope of the blacklist policy. Valid values:

    • User: The blacklist policy applies only to the current Alibaba Cloud account.

    • Group: The blacklist policy applies to the specified application group. You must select an application group.

Make sure that one or more application groups are created. For more information, see Create an application group.

    Effective Period

The time range during which the blacklist policy is effective.

    • If you select Specify Time Range, you must configure the time range type and effective period. The following values are available for Time Range Type:

      • Absolute Time Range: The policy is active for a fixed period. You must set a fixed start and end time.

      • Relative Time Range (Daily Cycle): The policy is active during a specific time range each day. You can also specify a date range for this daily cycle.

    • If you select Permanent, the blacklist policy is permanently active.

    Note

Each blacklist policy supports only one time range. To apply multiple time ranges, create separate blacklist policies with different time ranges.

  5. Click OK.
