Compute Nest automatically aggregates the usage time of a service instance and reports it as a data value to Alibaba Cloud Marketplace.

Usage notes

Reporting frequency: Once per hour.

Service types: private deployment, fully managed service.

Applicable scenarios: Time-based metering scenarios.

Supported metering items: Period, PeriodMin.

How it works

For example, assume a service provider configures the reporting source for the PeriodMin metering item as Compute Nest - Time. If a user creates a service instance at 11:30 and deletes it at 15:30, Compute Nest reports 30 minutes to the PeriodMin metering item for the 12:00–13:00 interval, 60 minutes for the 13:00–14:00 interval, and 60 minutes for the 14:00–15:00 interval. Upon deletion at 15:30, Compute Nest submits a final report of 30 minutes.

Procedure

Configure the reporting source
1. Log in to the Compute Nest console.
2. Go to the service details page and choose Sales Configuration > Billable Item Configuration.
3. Select a metering item and choose Compute Nest Reporting > Time.
Click Modify Reporting Method for the metering item. In the dialog box that appears, complete the configuration and click OK.
Bind the metering item
1. Log in to the Compute Nest console.
2. Go to the service details page and choose Sales Configuration > Associate Billable Item.
3. Click Edit and select the metering item to bind.
