You can use the SQL Explorer and Audit feature after you enable the DAS audit log. The version of the audit log that you enable affects the SQL Explorer and Audit feature, data storage modes, and billing. This topic describes the differences in the SQL Explorer and Audit feature among different versions of the DAS audit log and answers common questions about data migration between versions.

What are the differences between the SQL Explorer and Audit features in different versions of DAS Enterprise Edition?

On the Version Management page of the DAS console, the tab for each database instance indicates its DAS Enterprise Edition version.

The SQL Explorer and Audit feature, data storage mode, and billing rules differ for each version of DAS Enterprise Edition.

Billable items

This version uses the pay-as-you-go billing method. The billable items are:

  • Log traffic

  • Log index

  • SQL Explorer

  • Hot storage

  • Cold storage

  • Cold query

  • Download

Enterprise Edition V3 uses a hybrid storage model for hot and cold data and provides more granular, feature-based billable items. This approach offers more flexible billing and significantly reduces costs. For more information, see Billing details.

This version uses the pay-as-you-go billing method. The billable items are:

  • Hot storage

  • Cold storage

  • Cold query

Compared to Enterprise Edition V1, Enterprise Edition V2 uses a different underlying storage architecture. It employs a hybrid storage model for hot and cold data to improve performance at a lower cost. For more information, see Billing details.

The fees consist of a subscription fee and a storage fee for SQL Explorer and Audit.

Data from SQL Explorer and Audit is stored in hot storage. A relatively high storage fee is charged on a pay-as-you-go basis. For more information, see Billing details.

Search, SQL Explorer, and security audit

DAS creates a task that you can track if one of the following conditions is met:

  • You query, export, or analyze historical data that is more than seven days old.

  • The query time range exceeds one day.

DAS directly queries, exports, and analyzes stored data without creating an asynchronous task.

Task list

This is a new feature.

You can view the tasks and their details created by features such as search, export, SQL Explorer, and security audit.

This feature is not available.

OpenAPI

You can call the GetDasSQLLogHotData operation to query the details of hot data from SQL Explorer and Audit for a database instance.

You can call the DescribeSQLLogRecords operation to query the log details from SQL Explorer and Audit for a database instance.

Note

After you migrate to Enterprise Edition V3, the DescribeSQLLogRecords operation is no longer supported. You can call only the GetDasSQLLogHotData operation.
