Batch Import and Export Data Classifications
You can batch import or export data classifications using Excel. This reduces manual effort and improves configuration efficiency. This topic describes how to batch import and export data classifications.
Prerequisites
Purchase the Data Security feature to use batch import and export for data classifications.
Permissions
Security administrators and custom global roles with the Data Classification-Management permission can batch import or export data classifications, download exported files, or view import record details.
Level 1 category directory administrators can import or export data classifications in the directories they manage, or view and download records for which they are the owner.
Batch Import Data Classifications
On the Dataphin homepage, in the top menu bar, select Administration > Data Security.
In the navigation pane on the left, select General Configurations > Data Classifications. On the Data Classifications page, click the Data Classifications tab, then click Batch Import and Export, and select Batch Import Classifications.
In the Batch Import Data Classifications dialog box, configure the parameters.

STEP 1 Download configuration template
Template Download
If you do not have a template, click Data Classification Upload Template to download an .xlsx file. If you already have a template, upload the configuration file and import it.
NoteYou must have permissions to create or edit data classifications to import them. Otherwise, access will be denied, and the import will fail.
STEP 2 Upload Excel file
File Upload
Upload only one file at a time. Each file must not exceed 1,000 rows or 10 MB. Only .xlsx files are supported.
Classification Name: Required. Do not enter forward slashes (/). The name must be unique within its category directory and must not exceed 512 characters.
Classification Abbreviation: Optional. Must not exceed 128 characters.
Classification Description: Optional. Must not exceed 2,048 characters.
Parent Directory: Required. If the category directory does not exist, the import configuration determines whether to create a new directory or skip processing. Enter the directory in the format /Level 1 directory name/Level 2 directory name/.../.
Data Level: Required. Enter only one data level.
Identification Feature: Optional. Separate multiple identification features with English semicolons.
Priority: Required. Enter an integer from 1 to 5.
STEP 3 Import configuration
If directory does not exist
If the category directory for this import does not exist in the category directories, choose to Create a new directory or Skip processing.
If classification is duplicated
If the data classification name for this import is duplicated with an existing data classification name in the parent directory, skip processing.
Click Start Import. You can view the import operation details in Batch Import and Export-Batch Operation Records. Click the View icon in the Actions column to view details.
Batch Export Data Classifications
On the Data Classifications page, click the Data Classifications tab, then click Batch Import and Export, and select Batch Export Classifications.
In the Batch Export Data Classifications dialog box, configure the parameters.

Export Scope
Select the scope for exporting data classifications. You can choose to export All Classifications or Classifications in Specified Directories.
Select Directory
This option is available when you select to export classifications in specified directories. Select the directory from which to export data classifications. After selection, all data classifications in that directory are exported.
Classification Status
Select the data classification statuses to export. Multiple selections are supported. You can select data classifications with the status Active or In Effect.
Click OK to complete the data classification export.
NoteAdvanced configuration information for data classifications is not supported for export.
If you export many data classifications, file generation takes some time. You can view the export operation details in Batch Import and Export-Batch Operation Records, and download the exported file.
Data Classification Batch Operation Records
On the Data Classifications tab, click Batch Import and Export, and select Batch Operation Records.
On the Batch Operation Records panel, you can view the import and export operation records for data classifications.
Batch Import: You can view details of data classification import operations, including the creator, import status, creation time, and end time. You can click the View icon in the Actions column to view import details.
If some records fail to import, you can view error messages and download error records in the View Details dialog box. Modify them based on the error messages, and then re-import them. If records are skipped from import due to conflict resolution policy configuration, you can download the skipped records.

Import Result
View import result information, including import progress, running time, processing policy when a directory does not exist, creation time, and end time.
Abnormal Records
If exceptions such as parsing or verification failures occur during the import process, the abnormal import records are displayed. This includes the Line Number, Classification Name, Parent Directory, and Error Message corresponding to the record in the original file.
On the Abnormal Records tab, click Download Abnormal Records to download the corresponding original records as an Excel file.
Skip Record
If classifications with the same name appear during the import process, the skipped import records are displayed. This includes the Line Number, Classification Name, and Parent Directory corresponding to the record in the original file.
On the Skipped Records tab, click Download Skipped Records to download the corresponding original records as an Excel file.
Batch Export: You can view details of data classification export operations, including the creator, export scope, export status, creation time, and end time. You can click the Download icon in the Actions column to download the exported file to your local machine.
NoteExported data classification files are stored for 7 days. You cannot download them after 7 days.
Only records with a successful export status support file download.
