This topic describes how to create and manage asset tags in the asset catalog. Centralized tag management helps you optimize resource allocation and improve management efficiency.

Prerequisites

Enable the Intelligent R&D Edition or purchase the Asset Operations - Premium Edition value-added service to use the asset tag feature.

Limits

When you upgrade Dataphin to V5.4 or later, tags in the asset catalog are automatically managed centrally.

Permissions

Super administrators, operations administrators, and users in custom global roles with Listing Management - Management permissions can create and manage asset tags.

Create tags

Create a single tag

  1. On the Dataphin home page, in the top menu bar, choose Asset > Catalog Management.

  2. In the left navigation pane, choose Other Settings > Basic Settings. On the Tag Management tab, click Create Tag. Enter a tag name. The name must be globally unique and contain no more than 1024 characters. To save the tag, click the Save icon or press Enter.

Create tags in a batch

On the Tag Management tab, click Batch Add Tags. In the Batch Add Tags dialog box, enter or paste the tags, with each tag on a new line. The tags must be globally unique. The system parses only the first 50 lines. The total number of characters cannot exceed 4096, and a single tag cannot exceed 1024 characters. Click OK to add the tags.

Manage tags

  1. The Tag Management tab displays all configured tags. You can search for tags by name.

  2. You can perform the following operations on a tag.

    • Modify: Click the Edit icon in the Actions column to change the tag name. The naming rules are the same as those for creating a single tag. When you modify a tag, the change is automatically applied to all assets that use this tag.

    • Delete: Click the Delete icon in the Actions column. Alternatively, select one or more tags from the list and click Delete at the bottom of the list. When you delete a tag, it is also removed from all assets that use it.
