Overview of mapping relationships

Mapping relationships define how asset objects align with data standards. Compliance monitoring and evaluation apply only to asset objects with established mapping relationships.

Explanation of mapping relationships

  • Mapping relationships are categorized into active mappings and inactive mappings. Active mappings are established between data standards and asset objects through compliance mapping rules, manual addition, or during development. These mappings indicate compliance of an asset object with a specific data standard or the association of a data standard with an asset object.

  • Inactive mappings can be batch uploaded or set directly from an asset object with an existing mapping. Once designated as inactive, these mappings will not reactivate, even if new compliance mapping rules are executed.

  • Compliance evaluations only include asset objects with active mappings. Inactive mappings are excluded from compliance evaluations and will not produce evaluation details.

Explanation of mapping relationships from different perspectives

  • The By Asset Summary view displays the mapping status of all objects, such as fields, within each asset, like data tables. This view provides a clear picture of the asset's overall compliance status.

  • The Expand All view reveals the one-to-one mapping relationships between individual objects, such as fields, and data standards. Objects mapped to multiple data standards will have corresponding multiple mappings displayed.
