Prerequisites

To use intelligent discovery, you must enable the X-Asset Q&A feature. Currently, only table assets support the Intelligent Search feature.

For table assets: You must enable the Intelligent R&D Edition or purchase the Asset Operations - Standard Edition add-on module.

For metric and dashboard assets: You must enable the Intelligent R&D Edition or purchase the Asset Operations - Advanced Edition add-on service.

For API assets: You must enable the Intelligent R&D Edition or purchase the Asset Operations - Advanced Edition add-on service, and purchase the DataService feature.

From the top navigation bar of the Dataphin homepage, choose Assets > Asset Catalog.

On this page, you can search for assets, view asset details, and perform other operations.

Area
Description
① Search box
-
Global Search: Performs a fuzzy search for assets by name, display name, or description keyword.
Additionally, you can search for business metrics by associated technical metrics, technical metrics by associated business metrics, tables by field name or description, and dashboards by chart name or description.

Search in results: Narrows the current results with additional keywords.

Search Name Only: Performs a fuzzy search for assets by name keyword.

Search Description Only: Performs a fuzzy search for assets by description keyword.

Intelligent Search: To use Intelligent Search, you must first purchase the X-Asset Q&A and Asset Operations features. This feature lets you search for assets using natural language. In the intelligent discovery area, the model finds viewable assets based on your input and returns up to 10 of the most relevant results. You can perform the following actions:

Stop: Click to stop the query.

Retry: Click to search again based on the last input.

View/Hide Thought Process: If the model configured for the X-Asset Q&A intelligent application supports a thought process, its reasoning is displayed here. Click to expand or collapse the content.

Close: Click to close the intelligent discovery area.

② Asset filtering

All Assets: Click All Assets to view all assets in the project.

The left panel displays tables organized by project, showing the complete directory for that project. You can switch projects at the top. Selecting a directory level automatically displays assets in that directory and its subdirectories in the list on the right.

To the right of the project, click Expand All or Collapse All to expand or collapse the directory tree. Click Collapse Navigation to hide the directory tree, or click Expand Navigation in the upper-left corner to show it again.

Filter assets by system and custom attributes. Click More Filters and select the attributes to use as filters in the dialog box.

Supported filter conditions: Contains, Not Contains, Is Empty, and Is Not Empty.

Contains/Not Contains: You can select multiple attribute values. If the attribute allows custom input, you can also enter custom keywords.

Is Empty/Is Not Empty: No additional configuration required.
Note-
When the asset source attribute is used as a filter, the Is Empty/Is Not Empty conditions are not supported.

When the statistical granularity attribute is used as a filter, no filter conditions can be applied.

The custom attributes in the filter options are the attributes created in Data Warehouse Planning > Attribute Management that are configured to be visible in the Asset Catalog.

Enabling too many filters may affect query performance. We recommend using no more than 10 filters.

③ Asset list
Displays an asset summary for quick reference. Click Settings, select the attributes to display in the dialog box, and then click OK.
Note-
You can select up to 16 attributes.

You can reorder the selected attributes. The asset list displays attribute columns in the order you specify.

The selectable attributes include all custom attributes and some system attributes that are configured to be visible in the Asset Catalog on the Data Warehouse Planning > Attribute Management page.
Data table assets
Displays the asset name, asset type, tags, description, maximum sensitivity level (requires the Data Security module), and selected attributes.
View asset details: Click the asset name to view its detailed information. For more information, see View the details of a data table asset.
If an asset has been deleted, it is marked with a yellow icon. In the Published Assets list, you can click delist to remove it.
Metric assets
Displays the asset name, metric type (for technical metrics only), tags, description, and selected attributes.

Apply for Permissions: Supported only for technical metrics. Click to open the permission application page for the metric's corresponding table. For more information, see Apply for, renew, and revoke table permissions.
If an asset has been deleted, it is marked with a yellow icon. In the Published Assets list, you can click delist to remove it.
API assets
Displays the asset name, API ID, tags, description, service project, API group, and selected attributes. You can also view details and apply for permissions.

View asset details: Click the asset name to view its detailed information. For more information, see View the details of an API asset.

Apply for Permissions: Click to go to the API permission application page. For more information, see Manage API permissions.
Dashboard assets
Displays the asset name, asset type, tags, description, asset source, BI workspace/directory, total number of charts, and selected attributes.
View asset details: Click the asset name to view its detailed information. For more information, see View the details of a dashboard asset.
If an asset has been deleted, it is marked with a yellow icon. In the Published Assets list, you can click delist to remove it.
