To access a database instance with secure access proxy enabled, you must apply for authorization. Once approved, you receive an AccessKey pair to access the instance.
Prerequisites
The target database instance must have secure access proxy enabled. For more information, see Enable secure access proxy.
Procedure
Log in to DMS 5.0.
-
Move the pointer over the
icon in the upper-left corner and choose . NoteIf you use the DMS console in normal mode, choose in the top navigation bar.
-
On the Created tab, find the target instance and click Apply in the My Permissions column.
NoteIf you already have secure access proxy authorization for the instance, the My Permissions column displays Connection Details.
The system automatically generates a Secure Access Proxy Ticket.
On the ticket details page, the ticket status is Pending Approval, the description is [Secure Access Proxy Permissions] One-click application for secure access proxy authorization, and the environment tag is Production. An approver must then review the ticket. To complete the approval process, click Approve, Reject, Forward, Add Approver, or Withdraw.
-
After the ticket is approved, go to the secure access proxy details page for the instance to view your AccessKey ID and AccessKey secret.
Related operations
You can also manage your AccessKey pair and permissions:
- Update the AccessKey secret: Click Update to generate a new AccessKey secret. After the update, applications can no longer use the previous AccessKey secret to access the target instance.
- Release your permissions: If you no longer need to access the instance, click Release to relinquish your permissions.
Next steps
After you obtain the required permissions, you can access the database instance by connecting to its proxy endpoint.
