This topic describes the refund policy for Database Backup Service (DBS) and how to unsubscribe.
Notes
-
You can unsubscribe from a backup plan only if it is in the running state and uses the subscription billing method.
-
Unsubscribing from a backup plan is irreversible. Before you unsubscribe, we recommend downloading all related backup sets. For more information, see Download a backup set.
-
Self-service refunds are not available for resource packages, such as DBS storage packages and DBS network packages. To unsubscribe and request a refund, contact customer service for manual processing. Refunds for resource packages are calculated based on the remaining unused amount.
Unsubscribe from a subscription backup plan
When you purchase a subscription backup plan, you pay in advance. If you no longer need the plan, you can unsubscribe. Before you begin, please review the Alibaba Cloud Product Unsubscription Rules. We support both partial refunds and 5-day unconditional refunds. The system calculates the final refund amount based on your usage of the backup plan.

NoteIn addition, if you renew a subscription backup plan in advance and you unsubscribe before the renewal order takes effect, the renewal fee is refunded to you. For more information, see the Unsubscription for Renewed Subscriptions section in Unsubscription Rules.
Unsubscribe from a pay-as-you-go backup plan
Pay-as-you-go backup plans are billed based on usage and are not eligible for refunds. If you no longer need a pay-as-you-go backup plan, you can release it. Before you do, make sure that you have backed up or migrated your data and that this action will not affect your services. After a backup plan is released, you are no longer charged for it. For more information, see Release or unsubscribe from a backup plan.
