Tags and groups help you manage your domain names more effectively. This topic describes how to use them and provides important usage notes.

Tag management

Add tags

  1. On the Alibaba Cloud DNS - Public Zone page, click the tag icon next to a domain name to add a tag.

  2. Enter a tag key and a tag value, then click OK.

    For example, for Tag Key, enter dev, and for Tag Value, enter hangzhou. You can bind up to 20 tags to each resource. To manage tags centrally, go to Tag Management.

  3. Hover over the tag icon to view the tags for a domain name.

    In the displayed tooltip, click Edit to modify the tags.

Delete tags

  1. On the Alibaba Cloud DNS - Public Zone page, click the tag icon next to a domain name to edit its tags.

  2. Click Delete next to the tag, and then click OK to remove it.

Group management

Note

  • The All Zone Names group is a system group that contains all your domain names in Alibaba Cloud DNS. You cannot modify the name of a system group or delete it.

  • A domain name can belong to only one group at a time.

  • After a group is deleted, the domain names in it are removed and can be managed in the All Zone Names group.

  • You can create up to 100 groups.

  • A group name can be up to 20 characters long.

  • You can add an unlimited number of domain names to a group.

  • Group management operations are not logged.

Create a group

  1. On the Alibaba Cloud DNS - Public Zone page, click image in the All Zone Names drop-down list.

  2. Enter a name for the group and click the √ icon to create the group.

Modify and delete group

  1. On the Alibaba Cloud DNS - Public Zone page, find the group in the All Zone Names drop-down list and click the edit icon. Enter a new group name and click the √ icon to save it.

  2. To delete a group, click the delete icon next to its name. This action unassigns the domain names, but you can still manage them in the All Zone Names group.

Change group

Changing the group for a domain name means adding it to a group or moving it from one group to another.

  1. On the Alibaba Cloud DNS - Public Zone page, select the checkboxes next to the domain names that you want to move. Then, click the Change Group button at the bottom of the page.

  2. Select the group to which you want to move the domain names, and then click OK.

  3. After moving the domain names, click the destination group name to view them.
