Association identification
An association is created when a new customer, including one with a newly registered account, uses a valid Ambassador referral link. Associations are not created for certain types of referrals, such as referrals of existing Alibaba Cloud contacts or self-referrals. Alibaba Cloud contacts are customers who have already been contacted by a customer business manager (CBM), an Alibaba Cloud telesales manager, or a distribution partner. A self-referral occurs when the system identifies the referrer and the new customer as the same person. These referrals are not eligible for rewards.
You can use Google Chrome for the association process. New customers who are associated through an Ambassador's exclusive link have a 90-day association period. Existing customers who are new to a specific product have a 30-day association period.
A 90-day protection period applies to new customers who register and create an association through an Ambassador's exclusive link. A 90-day protection period also applies after an associated customer makes their first purchase. The purchase must be made during the initial association period. Customers with a protection period cannot be associated with other Ambassadors. Orders placed during the protection period are attributed to the current Ambassador.
*After the customer clicks the link, you can go to the Cloud Ambassador Management Platform and select Associated Users to check if the association was successful. Before the customer places an order, check again to ensure that the association is valid. For example, ensure that the association period has not ended and that all conditions are still met after identity verification. For subscription orders placed by a referred customer during a valid association period, you can receive a rebate of 25% to 45% of the actual amount paid. The order must be eligible for a rebate according to the rules for that month.
