Overview
Alibaba Mail saves deleted mailbox accounts for 30 days by default. If you delete a former employee's mailbox and need to recover the email data, follow the instructions in this topic.
Detailed information
You can recover email data using one of the following two methods. Choose the method that best suits your needs.
Restore account: Restore the former employee's mailbox account. Then, log on to the mailbox, find the historical emails, and download the emails to a local device.
Transfer emails: This is the recommended method. It transfers historical emails to a specific folder in another mailbox account. You do not need to restore the deleted account.
1. Log on to the Alibaba Mail domain management page as an administrator.
2. Choose Organization and Users > Account Recycle Bin.
3. On the Account Recycle Bin page, find the deleted mailbox account and click Restore Account or Transfer Emails.
a. Click Transfer Emails. Enter a destination mailbox in the Transfer emails to account field and click OK. The historical emails are transferred to a folder in the specified mailbox.
b. Click Restore Account. On the Restore Account page, follow the prompts and click OK to restore the deleted mailbox account.
