You can create templates for digital SMS marketing tasks. These templates can contain text, images, audio, and video, and can be used when you create a digital SMS marketing task.
Carriers review all digital SMS templates. After a template is approved by a carrier, only mobile numbers that belong to that carrier can receive digital SMS messages that use the template.
Create a digital SMS template
Follow these steps:
Navigate to Workspace Management > User Marketing > Reach Marketing > SMS > Digital SMS Template.
In the upper-right corner, click Create Digital SMS Template.
Enter a Template Name, Template Subject, and Request Description. Select a signature and edit the content.
Template Subject: The subject is sent to the user along with the SMS message.
Signature: You can add a signature only after it is approved on the Alibaba Cloud SMS platform. Otherwise, the SMS message will not be sent. Go to the Alibaba Cloud SMS console to confirm that your signature is approved.
Content: Click the + area to add text, an image, audio, or a video. You can add only one video. When you hover the mouse pointer over a content item, buttons to reorder and delete the item appear.
Request Description: This description is for the reviewer. Describe the business scenario for the SMS message.
Because you can send digital SMS messages only through the Alibaba Cloud SMS platform, SMS Platform is set to Alibaba Cloud SMS by default and cannot be changed.
Click Save and Submit for Review.
The carrier reviews the template. You can check the template list for the review result.
Manage SMS templates
The list displays the digital SMS templates that you have created. It includes information such as the SMS platform, supported carriers, status, and validity period. The template status can be Pending Submission, In Review, Approved, Rejected, or Expired.
You can use templates with an Approved or In Review status when creating a digital SMS marketing task. However, the template status must be Approved before you send the SMS message. The message can be sent only to mobile numbers that belong to a supported carrier.
Digital SMS templates are valid for one year and expire automatically.
You can perform the following operations:
Preview: You can preview a template in any status.
Edit: You can edit only rejected templates. You can modify the template name, subject, content, signature, and request description. Then, save and submit the template for review again.
Delete: You can delete templates with an Approved, Rejected, or Expired status. After a template is deleted, it cannot be used in SMS tasks. Do not delete a template that is used by an SMS task that is pending or in progress.
