This topic describes how to subscribe to alerts and remove subscriptions.

Prerequisites

  • An alert rule is created.

  • A notification group is created and contacts are added to the notification group.

  • A notification method such as by using DingTalk chatbots or text messages is configured.

Go to the subscription management page

  • Subscribe to custom monitoring-based alerts

Go to the Custom Monitoring Configuration page and click More> Subscribe to Alerts in the upper-right corner to go to the subscription management page.

  • Subscribe to application monitoring-based alerts

On the Application Monitoring page, find the application for which you want to subscribe to alerts and go to the application details page. Then, click More > Subscribe to Alerts in the upper-right corner to go to the subscription management page.

  • Subscribe to alerts by folders

Find a folder based on which you want to subscribe to alerts and click Actions > Subscribe to Alerts to the right of the folder to go to the subscription management page.

Add a subscription

On the Subscribe to Alerts page, you can add subscriptions. To add a subscription, you must specify a subscriber and an alert level. In addition, you must specify whether to enable the lower notification frequency feature.

  1. Set the New Subscriber, Alert Level, and Lower Notification Frequency parameters.

    • New Subscriber: the subscriber that wants to subscribe to alerts. You can add only contacts as subscribers. For more information about how to create a contact, see Create contacts.

    • Alert Level: the risk level of the alert whose notifications are to be subscribed to. Valid values: All Subscriptions, P0, P1, P2, P3, and P4.

This parameter corresponds to the Alert Level parameter in an alert package. If you cannot specify the alert level when you use a specific custom plug-in or configure an alert rule to monitor specific metrics, the default value P2 is used.

    • Lower Notification Frequency: specifies whether to reduce the frequency at which alert notifications are sent. After you enable this feature, the notification downgrade policy is triggered.

If an alert rule is triggered every minute, the notification downgrade policy is also triggered.

To be specific, after the notification downgrade policy is triggered, an alert notification is sent once every minute for 3 consecutive minutes, every 2 minutes for 4 consecutive minutes, every 5 minutes for 25 consecutive minutes, every 10 minutes for 50 consecutive minutes, every 30 minutes for 150 consecutive minutes, and then once every hour.

  2. Click Add. A subscription is added.

Added subscriptions are displayed in the subscription list on the Subscribe to Alerts page.

Remove a subscription

Go to the Subscribe to Alerts page and find the subscription that you want to remove. Click Unsubscribe in the Actions column. In the message that appears, click OK.
