Configure monitoring and alerts for a Serverless instance
This page describes the steps to configure monitoring and alerts for a Serverless instance.
Prerequisites
A Serverless instance exists. For more information about how to create and purchase a Serverless instance, see Purchase an instance.
Procedure
Log on to the OceanBase Management Console.
In the navigation pane on the left, click Instance List.
In the instance list, find the target Serverless instance and click the instance name to open the Serverless Workbench.
In the navigation pane on the left, click Performance Monitoring.
In the upper-right corner, click Add Alert Rule.
Configure the associated resources:
Product: This parameter is set to ApsaraDB for OceanBase by default.
Resource Scope: Options include All Resources, Application Group, and Instance.
All Resources: An alert notification is sent if any instance of the product triggers the alert rule.
Application Group: An alert notification is sent if an instance in the specified group triggers the alert rule.
Instance: An alert notification is sent only if the selected instance triggers the alert rule. To create rules for a group, go to the resource page for that group.
Click Add Rule and configure the following parameters for the alert rule:
Rule Name: Enter a unique name for the rule.
Metric Type:
Single Metric: Select a monitoring metric, and then set a threshold and an alert level for it.
Multiple Metrics: Select an alert level, and then set alert conditions for two or more monitoring metrics.
Dynamic Threshold: For more information about dynamic thresholds, see Overview and Create an intelligent threshold alert rule.
Monitoring Metric: Specify the metric to monitor.
Threshold and Alert Level: Set the threshold for each alert level. The available levels are Critical, Warning, and Info.
Monitoring Chart Preview: Select the desired monitoring chart.
Configure other parameters.
Parameter
Description
Mute period
The interval to wait before resending a notification for an unresolved alert. Valid values: 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 3 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, and 24 hours.
When a metric reaches its alert threshold, an alert notification is sent. If the metric continues to exceed the threshold, CloudMonitor does not send another notification during the mute period. If the alert is still active after the mute period, CloudMonitor sends another notification.
For example, if you set Mute for to 12 hours, CloudMonitor sends another alert notification after 12 hours if the issue is not resolved.
Effective Time
The period during which the alert rule is active. Alert notifications are sent only during this period.
NoteWhen an alert rule is outside its effective period, no notifications are sent. However, the alert is still recorded in the Alert History list.
Alert Contact Group
The contact group that receives alert notifications.
Alert notifications for an application group are sent to the contacts in this alert contact group. An alert contact group is a set of alert contacts and can contain one or more contacts.
For more information about how to create alert contacts and alert contact groups, see Create an alert contact or an alert contact group.
Tag
The tags for the alert rule. A tag consists of a tag key and a tag value.
NoteYou can add up to 6 tags.
Advanced Settings
