Virtual private cloud

Connect DashVector to a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) to access your clusters over a private network, keeping traffic off the public internet.

Important

VPC connections use private link pricing and incur additional charges. See Billing overview for details. To minimize costs, mount all clusters to the same VPC — if you mount different clusters to different VPCs, all VPCs are charged.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

Add a VPC connection

VPC connections operate at the account level. When you mount one cluster in an account to a VPC, all clusters in that account are mounted to a VPC. A cluster can be mounted to multiple VPCs, and multiple clusters can share the same VPC.
  1. Log on to the DashVector console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Clusters. Find the cluster you want to connect and click the Vector Retrieval Service DashVector consoleDetails in the Operation column.

  3. On the cluster details page, click the Access Control tab, then click VPC. If this is your first time accessing the VPC configuration, the Create AliyunServiceRoleForDashVector dialog box appears. Click OK to create the role automatically.

    Important

The AliyunServiceRoleForDashVector role must exist before you can add a VPC connection. See AliyunServiceRoleForDashVector for details.

  4. Click Add a proprietary network.

  5. Select your Proprietary Network, Security Group, and Availability Zones and Switches, then click OK.

Delete a VPC connection

  1. Log on to the DashVector console. Click Clusters, find the cluster whose VPC connection you want to remove, and click Details in the Operation column.

  2. Click the Access Control tab, then click Proprietary Network. Find the VPC to remove and click Delete. In the confirmation dialog box, click OK.

    Warning

Deleting a VPC connection has the following effects:

    • The cluster loses access to that VPC.

    • If other clusters are still mounted to the same VPC, the VPC connection remains active and continues to incur charges.

    • The VPC connection channel is deleted and no fees are incurred only when all clusters are unmounted from it.
