This topic describes how to enable automatic routing for secondary database write requests.

Background information

When this feature is enabled, write requests sent to the private primary endpoint of a secondary instance are automatically forwarded to the primary instance. Read requests continue to access the secondary instance.

Note

This feature is available only for OceanBase Database V4.2.1 or later.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the OceanBase Management Console .

  2. In the navigation pane on the left, click Instance List.

  3. In the instance list, find the secondary instance for the destination cluster and click the cluster name to go to the Cluster Instance Workbench.

  4. In the navigation pane on the left, click Tenant Management.

  5. In the tenant list, select the destination tenant and click the tenant name to go to the Tenant Workbench.

  6. In the Tenant Workbench, to the right of the deployment diagram, find the Automatic Routing for Secondary Database Write Requests switch to enable or disable the feature.

    Note

You must enable or disable this feature on the secondary instance. Although the feature status is visible on the Tenant Workbench page of the primary database, you cannot configure it there.

  7. Confirm the operation in the dialog box.

    • Enable automatic routing for secondary database write requests

In the dialog box, click Enable.

    • Disable automatic routing for secondary database write requests

In the dialog box, click Close.
