Recertification
This topic describes policies for authorization codes, exam postponements, certificate validity, and recertification.
Authorization code
Authorization codes are valid for one year from the date of purchase. They cannot be extended. Expired codes cannot be used to register for an exam.
Certification exam
You can change or cancel an offline exam appointment more than 24 hours before the scheduled exam date.
More than 24 hours in advance: You can change or cancel your appointment. After canceling, you can reschedule the exam within the one-year validity period of your authorization code. This period begins when the authorization code is activated.
Within 24 hours: Appointments cannot be changed or canceled. If you cancel your appointment or miss the exam for personal reasons, you forfeit the exam. Retakes and refunds are not supported.
Certificate
If you do not complete recertification before your certificate expires, the certificate becomes invalid. To earn the certificate again, you must retake the original certification exam.
Certificate validity period: Certificates are valid for two years from the date of issue and cannot be extended. While a certificate is valid, you cannot use the same account to retake the exam for that certification. You also cannot use the certificate to waive other certifications.
Recertification period: You can begin the recertification process up to three months before your certificate expires.
Recertification rules:
Clouder/ACA: You can purchase the certification product again or redeem an authorization code for the exam. You must pass the exam within one year to receive the certificate.
ACP: You must purchase a new authorization code to redeem for the exam. You must pass the exam within one year to receive the certificate.
ACE: The written exam is waived. You must sequentially purchase authorization codes for the experiment and the interview. You must pass both exams within one year of registering for the experiment to receive the certificate.
ImportantDo not purchase the authorization codes for the experiment and the interview at the same time. This helps prevent the codes from expiring before you complete all stages. Purchase the authorization code for the next stage only after you pass the previous one. This approach allows for flexible planning and the efficient use of resources.
Recertified certificate validity: The new certificate is valid for two years from its date of issue.
Certificate number: A new certificate number is generated after you pass the recertification exam. The original certificate becomes invalid when it expires.
You can view the validity period of your certificates on the Certificate Search page.
