Cloud Config provides two API versions: 2020-09-07 and 2019-01-08. This topic compares the two versions and describes how to use the 2020-09-07 version.

Comparison between two API versions

  • The API version 2020-09-07 adds settings for compliance packages, remediation, account groups, tags, and service integration.

  • The API version 2020-09-07 covers all features of the API version 2019-01-08, including resources, rules, delivery channels, and resource monitoring, and also supports new features. We recommend that you use the API version 2020-09-07.

API version 2020-09-07

The following table describes the account types and their API access scopes in the API version 2020-09-07.

Account

Definition

Description

Ordinary account

An ordinary account is an independent Alibaba Cloud account that is not included in a resource directory.

Can call all API operations except for those in the Account Group directory and the multi-account directories under Resource, Rules, Compliance Package, Remediation Settings, and delivery channel.

Management account

A management account is an Alibaba Cloud account that enables a resource directory and manages all member accounts in the resource directory.

Note

For information about delegated administrator accounts, see Manage a delegated administrator account.

Can call all API operations except for those in the single-account directories under Resource, Rules, Compliance Package, Remediation Settings, and delivery channel.

Member account

A member account is an Alibaba Cloud account in a resource directory.

The API operations available to a member account depend on whether the account is added to an account group.

  • If a member account is not added to an account group, it can call the same API operations as ordinary accounts.

  • If a member account is added to an account group, it can call all API operations available to ordinary accounts, plus the query operations available to the management account. These query operations allow the member account to query the account group it belongs to, and the compliance packages, rules, resources, and remediation settings that the member account owns.
