Overview
This article focuses on Alibaba Mail in Foxmail 7.0, the POP3 and IMAP protocol settings.

Make sure that the POP3/SMTP and IMAP/SMTP services are enabled. For more information about how to enable the services, see the solution to the Outlook and Foxmail configuration of Alibaba Cloud Alibaba Mail always prompts a password error. Here's how Alibaba Mail set up the POP3 and IMAP protocols in Foxmail 7.0:
Log on to the Foxmail official website and download and install the Foxmail client.
Log on to the Foxmail client, choose Tools > Accounts, and then click Create. The Create Account wizard appears.
In the Email Address field, enter your email address and click Next.
Select POP3 or IMAP from the Email Type drop-down list, enter the password, and then click Next.
Enter your email account and select Sending server requires authentication. Then, configure the POP3 or IMAP protocol and click Next. The following are the port setting policies for different protocols:

pop.qiye.aliyun.comorpop3.[$Domain_Name]in the receiving mail server and 110 in the port field.Note[$Domain] is the domain name that you want to set. If you want to use your own domain name, you need to configure the corresponding DNS resolution, or we recommend that you use the official service address of the Alibaba Mail. Otherwise, the configuration cannot take effect. For more information about how to configure DNS resolution, see Alibaba Mail domain name resolution.

smtp.qiye.aliyun.comorsmtp.[$Domain_Name]in the outgoing mail server and 25 in the port field.
IMAP settings

Because SSL encrypted connections are more secure, we recommend that you select Use SSL to connect to the server. The following are the ports that are open for each mail service and its SSL protocol. When you use it, make sure that your local computer and network have open encrypted ports.

After the account is created, click Test to test the email account. You can also click Finish to start using the mailbox.

The differences between the IMAP and POP3 protocols are as follows:
The POP3 protocol allows the mailbox client to download the mail on the server, but the operation on the client will not be fed back to the server, that is, the operation of the Foxmail client and the webpage mailbox cannot be synchronized. The IMAP protocol provides two-way communication between the web version of the mailbox and the mailbox client, and the operation of the client will be fed back to the server, that is, the operation of the mail on the Foxmail client, the web version of the mailbox also maintains the corresponding action.
The POP3 protocol is more likely to lose mail or download the same mail multiple times, while the IMAP protocol allows users to read offline. The summary browsing function provided by IMAP allows users to make a decision whether to download or not after reading all mail information.
IMAP better supports access to new mail at any time from multiple different devices.
