Overview
This topic describes how to configure Alibaba Mail on Windows Live Mail using POP3 or IMAP.

The following steps use Windows Live Mail 2009 as an example:
The configuration steps for other versions of Windows Live Mail may differ slightly. Adjust the steps accordingly.
1. Open Windows Live Mail and click Add e-mail account on the left. Enter your email address and password, select the Manually configure server settings for e-mail account checkbox, and then click Next.
2. Configure the settings for the incoming and outgoing servers.
For enhanced security, use a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encrypted connection. When you use SSL, make sure that ports 465, 995, and 993 are open on your local computer and network.

3. Click Finish to complete the configuration.
