An email sent from Alibaba Mail bounces with error 501 "MAIL FROM" is non-local account because the MX record for the sender's domain is missing. Add the MX record to fix this permanently.
Description
An email sent from Alibaba Mail is not delivered, and the bounce email contains the following error:
501 "MAIL FROM" is non-local accountThis is a hard bounce — the receiving server permanently rejects the message. Retrying without fixing the missing DNS record will not help.
Cause
The MX record for the sender's domain is not configured.
Solution
Who needs to act depends on your role:
Regular user: You cannot fix this yourself. Forward the bounce email to your domain administrator and ask them to configure the MX record for your domain.
Domain administrator: Follow the steps below.
Configure the MX record for the sender's domain. For more information, see What is an MX record?.
After adding the MX record, verify propagation using MXToolbox MX Lookup.
