This topic describes how to set renewal reminders. Timely reminders help you prevent service interruptions that can occur if you do not renew your ECS instances on time.
Background information
Alibaba Cloud Message Center provides a renewal reminder feature. Reminders are sent as internal messages, emails, and text messages to notify you to renew your instances on time. This prevents service interruptions that occur when instances expire. The reminders are sent at the following times:
Before expiration: By default, reminders are sent 7, 3, and 1 day before an instance expires. These settings cannot be changed. You can also set reminders for 15, 30, days before expiration. For the specific steps, see Set renewal reminders.
On the expiration date: By default, a reminder is sent on the day the instance expires. This setting cannot be changed.
Before release: By default, a reminder is sent one day before the instance is released. This setting cannot be changed.
