Subscription elastic IP addresses (EIPs) are billed based on a fixed bandwidth, meaning you are only charged for bandwidth fees. This billing method is suitable for services that require long-term resource usage and have stable peak traffic.

  • Resource assurance: Resources are reserved in advance to ensure service continuity and stability.

  • Cost savings: The price for long-term use is lower than the pay-as-you-go (pay-by-bandwidth) billing method.

For example, in the China (Hangzhou) region, the subscription price for an EIP with a 5 Mbps bandwidth cap is 125 CNY per month, whereas the pay-as-you-go (pay-by-bandwidth) price for one month is approximately 144 CNY.

Billing items and pricing

For subscription EIPs, you are charged bandwidth fees based on the specified bandwidth cap and subscription duration.

Bandwidth Fee = Bandwidth Unit Price (CNY/month) × Subscription Duration (months)

EIP support BGP (Multi-ISP) and BGP (Multi-ISP) Premium lines. The bandwidth unit price varies based on the line type.

The following table lists the pricing for the public cloud. The regions and prices are for reference only. For the most accurate pricing, see the purchase page in the console.

Billing cycle and statement time

  • Billing cycle: The subscription period of the order, which is in UTC+8. The cycle starts when the resource is activated or renewed, accurate to the second, and ends at 24:00:00 on the expiration date.

    • An EIP immediately enters the Stopped state after it expires. In this state, the EIP cannot provide services, and its bandwidth is limited to 1 Kbps.

    • The system automatically releases an EIP after it has been in the Overdue state for 168 hours (7 days). After the EIP is released, its configurations and data are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

  • Statement time: Statements are typically generated on the first day of the calendar month after the current billing cycle ends. The actual statement time may vary.

Billing example

For example, if you purchase a subscription BGP (Multi-ISP) EIP with 10 Mbps of bandwidth in China (Hangzhou) for one month on June 14, the EIP expires at 00:00:00 on July 15, and the fee is [125.0 + (10 - 5) × 80] CNY/month × 1 month = 525 CNY.

Bills and usage query

  • View bills: Log on to the Expenses and Costs console and view Consumption Bills.

  • To view the bill for this product, go to the Billing Details page and select Elastic IP Address in the product filter box. Select a time range to view the billing details for your EIPs.

  • View usage: Go to the EIP console, click the target EIP, and select the Monitoring and O&M tab to view real-time bandwidth and traffic. You can also use Cloud Monitor to view more detailed monitoring data.

  • Invoices and tax rates: You can request an invoice after you pay for an order or settle a bill. For detailed instructions, see Issue an invoice.

Upgrade/Downgrade

Subscription EIPs support bandwidth upgrades and downgrades to accommodate business changes.

  • Upgrade: You can increase the bandwidth at any time.

    • In the Bandwidth column for the target EIP, click Modify Configuration and then set a new bandwidth value.

    • Billing impact: You must pay the price difference for the remainder of the current billing cycle.

    • Effective time: The upgrade takes effect immediately after you complete the payment.

  • Temporary upgrade: You can temporarily increase the bandwidth for a specified period. Temporary upgrades are not supported for expired subscription EIPs. Temporary upgrades are billed by the hour, and your services are not interrupted during the upgrade.

    Important

When the specified restoration time is reached, the bandwidth is automatically restored to its pre-upgrade value. Your services are not interrupted during the restoration. However, if the service traffic exceeds the original bandwidth cap, speed limits may be triggered and traffic may be dropped. Plan the expiration time of the temporary upgrade to ensure that the bandwidth cap meets your service requirements.

    • In the Actions column of the target EIP, go to 更多操作 > Change Specification > Temporary Upgrade. Then, set the Bandwidth and Restore Time.

    • Billing impact: You must pay the price difference for the duration of the temporary upgrade.

    • Effective time: The order takes effect immediately upon payment.

  • Downgrade: You cannot directly downgrade the bandwidth within the current billing cycle. You can downgrade the bandwidth when you renew the EIP.

    • In the Actions column for the target EIP, click 更多操作 > Renewal and Bills > Renew/Update Configurations. Then, set the Duration and Bandwidth.

    • Billing impact: The fee is calculated as Monthly unit price of the new bandwidth × Subscription duration (months).

    • The change takes effect after the current billing cycle ends.

Renewal

Before an EIP expires or is released, you can go to the Elastic IP Address console to extend its subscription duration.

  • To renew an EIP with its original bandwidth: In the Actions column of the target EIP, click 更多操作 > Renewal and Bills > Renew. Set the Duration. The renewal fee is the current monthly bandwidth unit price multiplied by the subscription duration in months.

  • Renewing and changing bandwidth: In the Actions column of the target EIP, click 更多操作 > Renewal and Bills > Renew/Update Configurations. Set the Duration and Bandwidth. The renewal fee is Monthly unit price of the new bandwidth × Subscription duration (months). The new bandwidth takes effect after the current billing cycle ends.

Before the renewal takes effect, you can click More > Change Specification > Cancel Pending Order in the Actions column for the target EIP. You cannot revoke the cancellation of a pending order. Proceed with caution.

Switch billing method

You can switch subscription EIPs to the pay-as-you-go billing method.

You cannot switch the billing method for an EIP that is in the Stopped state. To switch to pay-as-you-go, you must first renew the EIP to resume its services and then switch the billing method.

  • Switch to pay-as-you-go (pay-by-bandwidth): You can directly switch to this method.

    • In the Actions column for the target EIP, click 更多操作 > Change Specification > Change to Pay-as-you-go.

    • Impact:

      • The switch takes effect immediately after you confirm it.

      • The instance is not released after the switch. Make sure that your account has a sufficient balance to prevent service interruptions due to overdue payments. If you no longer need the instance, back up its data and then release it in the console.

      • The remaining amount is refunded after the switch. Only the amount you paid is refunded to the original payment method. For more information about the refund calculation, see Refund rules and .

        • If the instance has pending renewal or upgrade orders, you will receive a full refund for these orders. For effective orders, you will receive only a partial refund.

        • No refund is provided for renewal orders that are generated as compensation for reasons such as ICP filing, data center failures, or data center migration.

  • Switch to pay-as-you-go (pay-by-traffic): You cannot directly switch to this method. You must first switch to pay-as-you-go (pay-by-bandwidth), and then switch to pay-as-you-go (pay-by-traffic).

    • In the Actions column for the target EIP, click 更多操作 > Change Specification > Change to Pay-as-you-go. After the switch, in the Actions column for the target EIP, click 更多操作 > Change Specification > Modify Configuration. Then, change the Traffic billing method to Pay By Traffic.

    • Impact:

      • The switch from pay-as-you-go (pay-by-bandwidth) to pay-as-you-go (pay-by-traffic) takes effect at 00:00:00 (UTC+8) the next day.

      • You cannot change the bandwidth cap before the billing method switch for the public network takes effect.

Release and unsubscription

For subscription EIPs, you must pay in advance for the selected subscription duration. If you no longer need an EIP due to business changes, you can unsubscribe from it. Before you apply for a refund, make sure that you understand the refund rules.

  • Rules: EIPs support partial refunds. The specific refund amount is displayed on the unsubscription page. For more information about the refund rules and procedures, see Refund rules. You can also choose not to renew the subscription to terminate the service.

  • Impact: After you unsubscribe, the EIP is immediately released. The IP address and its configurations cannot be recovered.

  • Path: In the Actions column of the target EIP, click More actions > Renewal and Bills > Unsubscribe. On the Resource Unsubscription page, click Unsubscribe in the Actions column of the target EIP.
