After you create an instance, you can modify the number of CUs for the FE nodes if the current configuration does not meet your business needs.
Prerequisites

The instance status is Running.

Your Alibaba Cloud account has no unpaid orders.
If you have unpaid orders, you must pay for or cancel them.
Upgrade an FE node
Go to the details page of an EMR Serverless StarRocks instance.
Log on to the EMR console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
In the top navigation bar, select a region based on your business requirements.
In the Instances section, find the desired StarRocks instance and click the name of the instance.

On the Instance Details page, in the FE Details section, click Upgrade.

In the Scale Up Instance panel, configure the parameters. After the Scale-up Precheck displays Check Passed, select the Terms of Service and click OK.

Current FE Configuration
Shows the configuration of the FE nodes before the upgrade.
Number of FE CUs
Select a specification higher than the current one. If the instance is already at the highest specification, scale out the BE nodes to meet your business growth needs.
After the order is created, a change in the instance status from Upgrading Configuration to Running indicates that the FE nodes are successfully upgraded.
Downgrade an FE node
Go to the details page of an EMR Serverless StarRocks instance.
Log on to the EMR console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
In the top navigation bar, select a region based on your business requirements.
In the Instances section, find the desired StarRocks instance and click the name of the instance.

On the Instance Details page, in the FE Details section, click Scale Down.

In the Scale Down Instance panel, select a lower number of FE CUs than the current configuration. When the Scale-down Precheck displays Check Passed, select the Terms of Service and click OK.
If the instance status changes from Downgrading Configuration to Running, the FE nodes have been successfully downgraded.
