Use Edge Private Network (EPN), a service of Edge Network Acceleration (ENA), to create private multi-point connections between on-premises networks, Alibaba Cloud central regions, and Edge Node Service (ENS) resources.

Procedure
Step 1: Create an EPN instance

Log on to the Edge Network Acceleration (ENA) console and choose Business Instances > Create EPN Instance.

On the EPN Instances page, click Create EPN Instance and configure the parameters.
Parameter

Name
Name of the EPN instance.
Region
Select outside the Chinese mainland.
NoteCurrently, EPN does not support cross-border connections between Chinese mainland and non-Chinese mainland regions.
Description
Description of the EPN instance.

After you configure the parameters, click OK.

After the instance is created, click OK in the dialog, then click Buy Now on the payment page.
NoteEPN is pay-as-you-go. No payment is required at this time. For billing details, see Edge Private Network pricing.

Step 2: Create an access point
From an edge access port
Create an edge virtual border router (EVBR) from an edge access port to connect your on-premises network to an EPN instance.

On the EPN Instances page, find the EPN instance that you created and click Details.

On the details page of the EPN instance, click Add EVBR and configure the following parameters.

Select Create EVBR from Edge Access Port.
Edge access port
Select the edge access port from which to create the EVBR.
If no edge access port instance is available, see Edge network resources to create one.
VLAN ID
Enter the VLAN ID for the EVBR. Valid values: 0 to 4000.
Note-
VLAN ID 0: the port uses a Layer 3 routed interface instead of a VLAN interface. Only one EVBR is supported per port.

VLAN ID 1–4000: the port uses VLAN-based Layer 3 subinterfaces. Each VLAN ID maps to one EVBR, with Layer 2 isolation between VLANs.
Bandwidth
Specify the EVBR bandwidth. Total bandwidth of all EVBRs on the same port cannot exceed the port bandwidth.
NoteEVBR bandwidth affects EPN service fees. Edge Private Network pricing.
Routing method
Select a routing method: BGP or static route.
Client-side AS number
Enter the BGP AS number of the EVBR peer device. Required only when BGP routing is selected.
Note-
The client-side AS number can be a value from 1 to 4,294,967,295, but cannot be 45013.

The AS number on the EVBR side is fixed at 45103 and cannot be changed.
Primary interconnect IP address
Enter the Edge Cloud Interconnect IP and Client-side Interconnect IP for the EVBR and its peer.
Backup interconnect IP address
Enter the Edge Cloud Interconnect IP and Client-side Interconnect IP for the EVBR and its peer.
NoteOptional. Takes effect only when the primary interconnect IP is unavailable.
Advanced features (BFD configuration)
Enable BFD and configure the following parameters:

BFD UDP destination port number: 3784 (for single-hop) or 4784 (for multi-hop).

BFD transmit interval (ms): 200–1000.

BFD receive interval (ms): 200–1000.
-
BFD detect multiplier: 3–10.
NoteBFD rapidly detects link failures and works with BGP to accelerate route convergence and ensure service stability.

From a shared cloud port
Create an EVBR from a shared cloud port to connect the EPN instance to Express Connect and access central-region resources such as ECS, VPC, and OSS.

On the EPN Instances page, find the EPN instance that you created and click Details.

On the details page of the EPN instance, click Add EVBR and configure the following parameters.

Select Add EVBR: Shared Port for Edge-to-Cloud.
Shared cloud port
Select the shared cloud port from which to create the EVBR.
If no shared cloud port instance is available, see Edge network resources to create one.
Bandwidth
Specify the bandwidth for the EVBR.
Note-
EVBR bandwidth cannot exceed the shared cloud port bandwidth.

Routing method
Select a routing method: BGP or static route.
Client-side AS number
Enter the BGP AS number of the EVBR peer device. Required only when BGP routing is selected.

From an ENS node
Create an Edge Node Service gateway (ENSGW) from an ENS node to connect your ENS VPC to the EPN instance.

On the EPN Instances page, find the EPN instance that you created and click Details.

On the details page of the EPN instance, click Add ENSGW and configure the following parameters.

Enter the ID of the ENS node for the ENSGW.
NoteYou can find the node ID on the ENS console.
Rate limit
Specify the rate limit for the ENSGW.
NoteThe ENSGW rate limit directly affects EPN service fees.

Click Associate vSwitch to the right of the ENSGW and configure the following parameter.
NoteAfter creating the ENSGW, you must associate it with an ENS vSwitch to add the corresponding VPC to the network.
