You can upgrade or downgrade a hosted connection or set a bandwidth limit for a virtual border router (VBR) to meet your business requirements.

Modify a hosted connection specification

You can modify the specification of a hosted connection, regardless of whether it is paid for by a tenant or a partner.

Before you begin, note the following information:

Limitations

Effective time

Billing impact

You can modify the specification of a hosted connection if its current bandwidth no longer meets your business requirements.

The combined bandwidth of all hosted connections on an express connect circuit cannot exceed the circuit's total bandwidth.

The new specification usually takes effect immediately. A delay of a few minutes may occur due to network issues.

When you upgrade a hosted connection, you must pay the price difference between the new and original specifications. When you downgrade, you can apply for a refund for the price difference.

Note

For information about how to apply for a refund when you downgrade, see Refund rules and procedures or .

Tenant-paid hosted connection

  1. The tenant contacts the partner to request a specification modification.

The partner reviews the request to ensure that after the modification, the combined bandwidth of all hosted connections on the express connect circuit does not exceed the circuit's total bandwidth. After approval, the partner initiates the specification change for the tenant's hosted connection.

  2. The partner initiates the specification change.

    1. Log on to the Express Connect console.

    2. In the top navigation bar, select the target region.

    3. On the Physical Connection page, click the ID of the target express connect circuit.

    4. On the details page of the express connect circuit, click the Hosted Connections tab. On the Hosted Connections tab, find the tenant's hosted connection, and in the Actions column, click Modify Specification.

    5. In the Modify Shared Port dialog box, select a bandwidth value from the Change Bandwidth Limit drop-down list, and then click OK.

  3. The tenant confirms the change and completes the payment.

    1. Log on to the Express Connect console.

    2. In the top navigation bar, select the target region.

    3. On the Physical Connection page, find the target hosted connection, and in the Actions column, click Modify and Pay.

    4. In the Modify and Pay panel, confirm the new specification, read and select the Buy Now, and then click Buy Now to complete the payment.

Return to the Physical Connection page. You can see that the bandwidth of the hosted connection is updated and its Status is available. The partner can also view the updated bandwidth and check that the status is available on the Hosted Connections tab.

After you modify the specification of a hosted connection, the system automatically adjusts the bandwidth of the associated VBR to ensure consistency.

Set a VBR bandwidth limit

Before you begin, note the following information:

Use cases

Limitations

Effective time

You can set a bandwidth limit for a VBR if its current bandwidth no longer meets your business requirements.

When you set a bandwidth limit for a VBR, ensure that the total bandwidth of all VBRs on the express connect circuit does not exceed the circuit's total bandwidth.

After you set a bandwidth limit for a VBR, the new limit usually takes effect immediately. A delay of a few minutes may occur due to network issues.

  1. Log on to the Express Connect console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select the target region.

  3. On the Physical Connection page, click the ID of the target express connect circuit.

  4. On the details page of the express connect circuit, click the VBR tab. Find the target VBR, and in the Actions column, choose 更多 > Bandwidth Settings.

  5. In the Bandwidth Settings panel, set the Bandwidth Cap, and then click OK.
