Purchase a cluster

Procedure

1. Log on to the ApsaraDB for HBase console.
2. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the cluster that you want to manage is deployed.

3. On the Clusters page, click Create HBase Cluster.

4. On the purchase page, configure the following parameters.

   Configuration section	Parameter	Description
   Billing method	Product type	Select HBase Cluster Subscription or HBase Cluster PAYG: HBase Cluster Subscription: You pay an upfront fee for selected resources for a specified duration. Important The subscription billing method does not cover the fees for the backup service. After you enable the backup service, you are charged on a pay-as-you-go basis. HBase Cluster PAYG: You are charged based on actual usage. You can start and stop the service at any time.
   Basic information	Service	Select HBase.
   	Service type	Select Standard Edition.
   	Region	The geographic location of the cluster. Important You cannot change the region after purchase. Select a region that is geographically close to your users to reduce network latency. Make sure that your ApsaraDB for HBase cluster and the Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance that you want to connect to are in the same region. Otherwise, they cannot communicate over the internal network and must use the Internet, which degrades performance.
   	Zone	A zone is a distinct physical location within a region that has independent power and networking. Zones in the same VPC can communicate with each other over the internal network. Zones are designed to be isolated from failures in other zones.
   	Version	Defaults to 2.0.
   	Cluster name	Enter a custom name for the cluster.
   Network parameters	Network type	Two network types are available: VPC: A logically isolated network on Alibaba Cloud that lets you customize the network topology and IP addresses. This option is recommended for users who require high network security. Classic Network: A public infrastructure that is managed by Alibaba Cloud. This option is suitable for users who prioritize ease of use. Note Some regions do not support the Classic Network. The options shown in the console are what is actually available.
   	VPC	Select the desired VPC. For more information about how to create a VPC, see Create a VPC and a vSwitch.
   	vSwitch	Select the vSwitch that corresponds to the selected VPC. For more information about how to create a vSwitch, see Create a vSwitch.
   Specifications and storage	Master node specification	For guidance, see Select cluster specifications.
   	High availability	High availability is enabled for the cluster by default.
   	Core node disk type	Select a storage type. For more information, see Storage types.
   	Core node specification	For guidance, see Select cluster specifications.
   	Core nodes	The default is 2 nodes. You can add more nodes after creation.
   	Single core node capacity	The storage capacity for each core node ranges from 400 GB to 64,000 GB.
   	Enable cold storage	This feature is not available for ApsaraDB for HBase Standard Edition.
   Others	Resource Group	Resource groups allow you to centrally manage cloud resources across different regions and services under a single Alibaba Cloud account. You can assign the cluster to an existing Resource Group or create one.
   	Duration	If you select HBase Cluster Subscription, you must specify a subscription duration. You can select a duration from 1 to 9 months, or from 1 to 3 years. Note If you want the subscription to be renewed automatically upon expiration, select Auto-renewal. Ensure your account has a sufficient balance before the expiration date.

5. After you configure the preceding parameters, click Buy Now.

6. On the Confirm Order page, review your selections and accept the terms of service.

   • If you selected HBase Cluster Subscription, click Pay to complete the payment.

   • If you selected HBase Cluster PAYG, click Enable Now.
