This topic explains how to manage connected and disconnected instances in HoloWeb, including editing and deleting them.
Background information
You can manage both connected and disconnected instances. The following table describes the available operations.

Manage disconnected instances
You can connect to, edit, and delete a disconnected instance.
Log on to the Hologres management console.
In the top navigation bar, select a region.
Click Go to HoloWeb to open the HoloWeb developer page.

On the Metadata Management tab, right-click a disconnected instance. The available management operations are Connect to Instance, Edit Instance, and Delete Instance.
Note-
The disconnected instances list shows all instances in the current region accessible to your Alibaba Cloud account.

When you activate a Hologres instance, a disconnected instance of the VPC network type is automatically created. This instance is displayed in the list with a
icon and cannot be edited or deleted.
You can perform the following operations:

Connect to Instance
Right-click the target instance and select Connect to Instance. For more information, see Connect to an instance.

Edit Instance
Right-click the target instance and select Edit Instance. For more information about instance parameters, see Edit instance parameter reference.
Note-
For an instance of the public network type, indicated by the
icon, you can edit all parameters. -
For an instance of the VPC type, indicated by the
icon, you can only edit the description.

Delete Instance
Right-click the target instance and select Delete Instance. After confirming the instance information, click OK to delete the instance.
NoteYou can only delete instances of the public network type, which are indicated by the
icon. Instances of the VPC type, indicated by the icon, cannot be deleted.

Manage connected instances
You can refresh, edit, manage users and permissions, switch databases, log off from, and delete a connected instance.
Log on to the Hologres management console.
In the top navigation bar, select a region.
Click Go to HoloWeb to open the HoloWeb developer page.

On the Metadata Management tab, right-click the target connected instance.
Note-
The disconnected instances list shows all instances in the current region accessible to your Alibaba Cloud account.

Refresh
Refresh the instance to synchronize any recent changes.

Edit Instance
Right-click the target instance and select Edit Instance to modify the current instance. For more information about instance parameters, see Edit instance parameter reference.

For an instance of the public network type, indicated by the
icon, you can edit all parameters. -
For an instance of the VPC type, indicated by the
icon, you can only edit the description.

Copy Instance URL
Right-click the target instance and select Copy Instance URL to copy its URL to your clipboard. You can then paste the URL to share it.

Users
Right-click the target instance and select Users. On the Users page, you can add or delete users for the instance. For more information, see User management.

Database Authorization
Right-click the target instance and select Database Authorization. On the Database Authorization page, you can grant permissions when creating a new database or modify permissions for an existing one. For more information, see DB management.

IP address whitelist
Right-click the target instance and select IP address whitelist. On the IP address whitelist page, you can configure an IP address whitelist. For more information, see IP address whitelist.

Switch Database
Right-click the target instance and select Switch Database. This opens the Connect to Instance page, where you can select a different database for the current instance. For more information, see Connect to an instance.

Create Database
Right-click the target instance and select Create Database. On the Create Database page, you can create a database for the current instance. The new database will then appear in the instance's database list. For more information, see Create a database.

Log Off
Right-click the target instance and select Log Off. After confirming the instance information, click OK to log off. The instance is then moved to the disconnected instances list.

Delete Instance
To delete the current instance, right-click the target instance and select Delete Instance. After confirming the instance information, click OK to delete the instance.
NoteYou can only delete instances of the public network type, which are indicated by the
icon. Instances of the VPC type, indicated by the icon, cannot be deleted.
