Intelligent Media Management (IMM) uses pay-as-you-go billing by default. You can also purchase media data processing resource plans from Alibaba Cloud in advance. These resource plans offset charges for IMM services and related Object Storage Service (OSS) features, such as video snapshot and image processing. After a resource plan expires or its quota is fully used, any additional usage automatically reverts to pay-as-you-go billing.
Purchase a Resource Plan
You can purchase a resource plan on the media data processing resource plan purchase page.
Resource Plan Validity Period
A media data processing resource plan is valid for one dynamic month, which is different from a calendar month. Within each cycle, usage is deducted from your plan based on actual consumption until the quota is depleted or the cycle ends. At the start of a new cycle, the full quota is restored.
Alibaba Cloud charges the full amount when you purchase the resource plan. The plan takes effect immediately. The cycle resets at 00:00 on the same day of the following month. For example, if you purchase a plan on January 15, 2022, the new cycle starts at 00:00 on February 16, 2022.
If the purchase date does not have a corresponding day in the next month, the reset date is moved to 00:00 on the first day of the month after the next. For example, if you purchase a plan on August 31, 2022, the new cycle starts at 00:00 on October 1, 2022.
Offset Restrictions
Media data processing resource plans only offset charges incurred by the Alibaba Cloud account used for the purchase. Cross-account offsetting is not supported.
These resource plans are dedicated to IMM and OSS video and image processing services and cannot be used to offset charges for other products.
Media data processing resource plans apply only to charges incurred after the plan is purchased and cannot be used retroactively.
Offset Rules
The following table lists the offset factors for different billing items covered by the media data processing resource plan.
The offset factor is used to calculate the amount deducted from your resource plan based on your raw resource usage: Resource plan deduction = Raw resource usage × Offset factor.
Raw resource usage: The billable usage that is generated by IMM.
Resource plan deduction: The amount deducted from your resource plan to offset pay-as-you-go charges.
MicroCU is a smaller unit than CU. 1 CU = 1,000,000 MicroCU.
For example, the offset factor for image labeling is 1,000 MicroCU per operation. If you perform 1,000 labeling operations, the raw usage is 1,000 operations. The resource plan deduction is: 1,000 operations (raw usage) × 1,000 MicroCU/operation (offset factor) = 1,000,000 MicroCU = 1 CU.
