General transcoding duration plans help you reduce costs for transcoding jobs. This topic describes how to purchase these plans and how usage is deducted from them.
Introduction to resource plans
You can use general transcoding duration plans to cover the costs of transcoding jobs for video-on-demand and real-time media processing. You can purchase multiple plans. If you have more than one plan, they are consumed in order of purchase. When you run a transcoding job, the duration is first deducted from your active resource plan. After the plan is exhausted, billing automatically switches to the pay-as-you-go method. For more information about pay-as-you-go billing, see Pay-as-you-go for video-on-demand media processing and Pay-as-you-go for real-time media processing.
- General transcoding duration plans cover only the transcoding fees generated by Intelligent Media Services (IMS). They do not cover fees for other products, such as ApsaraVideo Live (LIVE), ApsaraVideo VOD (VOD), or ApsaraVideo Media Processing (MPS).
- General transcoding duration plans are currently available only in the Chinese mainland. Therefore, the prices and deduction ratios apply only to the Chinese mainland and are not supported in other regions.

Deducting video-on-demand media processing transcoding fees from a resource plan
Deduction rules: The duration of a resource plan is calculated based on standard H.264 LD transcoding for video-on-demand media processing. The duration consumed for other transcoding specifications and types is converted based on the deduction ratios in the following table. For example, a standard H.265 2K transcoding job for video-on-demand media processing consumes 32.5 times the duration of a standard H.264 LD transcoding job. A Narrowband HD 1.0 H.265 LD transcoding job consumes 15 times the duration of a standard H.264 LD transcoding job.

Deducting real-time media processing transcoding fees from a resource plan
Deduction rules: The duration of a resource plan is calculated based on standard H.264 LD transcoding for video-on-demand media processing. The duration consumed for other transcoding specifications and types in real-time media processing is converted based on the deduction ratios in the following table. For example, a standard H.265 2K transcoding job for real-time media processing consumes 31.5 times the duration of a standard H.264 LD transcoding job for video-on-demand media processing. A Narrowband HD H.265 LD transcoding job for real-time media processing consumes 6.5 times the duration of a standard H.264 LD transcoding job for video-on-demand media processing.
